I just brought a MS wireless notebook mouse from BB for $29.99. I used to use regualar mouse and don't need to worry about the battery issue.

I used it for my desktop computer. But I don't want to plug and unplug the USB receiver all the time. So my questions are:
1. How long that a AA battary could last if I plug the receiver all the time, even I turn off the computer?
2. Can I turn the mouse off if I don't use it?
3. Is a sleep mode available for the mouse that could save save power?

Thanks,

I have a wireless mouse... but not MS so any information take with a grain of salt. I don't know what sort of set-up you have... but the USB receiver has to be plugged into the machine you want to use the device with. In my set-up the mouse is auto-recharged each time I put it into a docking spot.
I wouldn't worry about the batteries much, get rechargables... if there is issues.

1) I use rechargeables... it came with the unit, never had to replace them. A full charge lasts a week or two.. without docking and depending on usage.

2)popping the batteries out is one way to ensure lasting AA's.

3)most of the mice designs include a 'sleep mode' that cuts juice right down when not in use.
