Man I said a rival company should have done this like 2 years ago and have somebody leak a ipod wheel hack for it.

Yea, they removed the clickwheel and put it inside as touchscreen. Could be cheaper in production and to prevent damage on it?

Check this out...apparently it's the patent Apple filed for the "vPod"

Don't be surprised if they continue to charge an outrageous amount for it. How does $1000 sound?

I might buy this thing if they throw in some decent PDA functionality and keep the price tag under $500. I hope they do something about the mediocre battery life that the current iPod videos have.

Surprinsingly, Apple has actually driven prices lower as of late so I think this may come in at roughly the same as the 30GB or 60GB price points. The shuffle, despite the screen, was cheap for a 1GB and Sony, Creative, etc had to follow suit. Even the new Zen Vision Micro (or whatever it is), is slightly more than its comparable iPod. 1GB Nano at $149 is pretty cheap too given its capacity and form factor. I think its because Apple's been able to negotiate such cheap memory/hard drive prices given its volume - something the other guys can't right now.

sounds good theory, we'll see how it is in reality. i really like 3.5" widescreen though.

Every ipod they've released in the past 4 years has started at 379$ for 20gb and now 30gb. They just keep getting better for your money as parts get cheaper.

Some established a long time ago (through a video) that this was fake. He showed people how he made it.

The pics in this thread are fake, but the video wasn't in relation to these "mock-ups".

Might be fake, but Apple might actually make it in the future.

No doubt, they will probably save it for the next Mac world though, there has generally been a year between generations it seems, I'd bet the next announcement will have an update to the shuffle though, since it’s been out for a year.
