I dont know much about plasmas, other than Pioneer is one of the best. I want a good brand, but not too much money. Like $13,000 for a Sony. Can you list some recommendations with model numbers?

My budget is $3000, but if its worth it for a higher up model, $5000.

Thanks

Pioneer has a 43" plasma...

i would recommend HD Panasonic, Toshiba and Pioneer for plasmas.
other than those...there are no guarantees.

the next generation are coming around April. SO right now you can get some decent ones that are discountinued.

you can haggle with Futureshop/bestbuy for a discount.

I got a rebranded HP (that was a panasonic) for 3K HDTV during boxing week. I've been enjoying it for the past 3 weeks.

i would not recommend Sony...they never invested into Plasmas....they buy all their materials (most importantly glass) and just paste Sony on it.

if you have time...go to Bestbuy Markham they have the HP4200N
which is just a panasonic but made in JAPAN!

i got it for 3k...ask them if they can match it....you will fall in love with it.
