Hey,

I'm wondering if anyone here has travelled to Central America? Namely Guatemala, Nicaragua, and Costa Rica.

I'm thinking of doing some travelling there this summer and I would love to talk to anyone about their experience with the 'Tica Bus'.

Moreover, I've never tried this, but how reasonable would it be to get a flight from Toronto --> Guatemala City, and then leave from San Jose --> Toronto?

what are your dates? I found 15June-15Aug to fly to Guatemala City and back from San Jose, Costa Rica for $919 taxes incl. Let me know if I can help.

Hi,
I just got back from Costa Rica a few weeks ago.
Just did a flight from Toronto to San Jose....
Very very poor country. Road conditions are absolutely horrible. Buses down there are VIRTUALLY non existent...cabs are quite reasonably priced though.
Local buses basically start up around 6am and end by 4pm...Well that was my experience in Jaco and Puntarenas areas...not too sure about San Jose city itself since we didn't stay there.
Hiring a cab for the day is quite reasonable. We paid around 80$ a day for an english speaking cabbie, with air conditioning, who had a 4x4, cuz driving in anything else would be out of the question.
Let me know if you have any questions about costa rica.
