My car engine just turned on, and the engine is a bit shakey now. Someone told me that the fuel additive could help.
I am wondering if Fuel System Cleaner or Fuel Cleaner for this case. (Fuel System cleaner is 4 times more expensive)
And which brand name is better ? Penzoil, slick 50 or others ??
Thanks for any advice !

Redline SI-1 Complete Fuel System Cleaner. It's one of the best. Just dump a bottle in a full tank of gas and it'll do it's job. The bottle is about $10.

I think some CT carry it. If not you can get it at most speed shops, especially in Pacific Mall.

If you can find Techron, get that. Unfortunately I haven't been able to find it in Canada in the last few years.

Yup, it's safe. I use it in my parents' Passat V6 once a year with good results.

It's a boutique item, sold mostly in speed shops and other "premium" car stores which do not carry the crap Canadian Tire and Walmart do.

Redline is a well-known and respected brand in racing and automotive enthusiast circles. They don't spend very much on marketing and ride on their reputation.
Techron is a product made by Chevron which used to be available in Canada. It's considered one of the few cleaners that actually make a difference, and they have it as an additive in their gas sold in the US.

chevron still has techron added into all grades of their gas here in canada
thats why usually their gas cost a tiny bit more most of the time
also a lot of harley davidson enthusiasts agree that their gas is cleaner
but of course they fuel up 94 octane anyways
im thinking maybe town pantries in chevron stations may have techron concentrated cleaner
btw dont use octane booster nor lucas

ive heard that octane booster can burn out spark plugs and really mess things up

Try Marvel Mystery Oil. CT used to carry it but I can't find it anymore. Went to Partsource (another CT company that specializes in auto parts) and the sales guy never even heard of MMO.
Try googling it.

I've used Redline 2 times and I've used Prestone Fuel System cleaner once. The prestone showed more of a difference in fuel milage.
Prestone was 17 bucks after tax, Redline is about 12 dollars after tax.
Redline is recommended everywhere, but I dont notice any difference with it :S

Check their website for the closest location near you.
I believe this is the same stuff as Techron by Chevron, but quite a high concentrated per volume. You want to put this in your tank before a fill-up of a full tank of gas. Also you want to use this tank of gas up as soon as possible (ie. 2days) and it's a good idea to have you oil changed after also.
I have been told this is the equivalent of about 4 bottles of Techron, but it's cheaper then buying four bottles of Techron. BG44K cost roughly $17+tax, and I know some people use it every, to every other oil change.
I personally haven't used it on my CURRENT car as it's pretty new, and I only fill Chevron. (When im in provinces that don't have Chevron, it's Shell, basically anything that's TOP TIER rated uses ENOUGH detergents to help "clean as you drive" for lack of a better word(s). ) It has worked wonders on older family cars.

I've heard a lot of good things about BG 44K, but have never tried it since I never knew where to get it from. Thanks for the link! :)

Chevron with Techron is the same price as anyone else's gas. Its not a penny more.
And yes, it really does work.

Has anyone been able to locate this BG44K, more specifically in and around Ottawa area?
I've tried the dealerships listed on their website but they apparently do not sell the product separately.
Thanks!!
