haha Nah... I thought it was pretty damn creative if she was an addict @ that forum.
If you really love someone, then you must realize if that girl really loves you or not. If a girl really loves you... she will marry you no matter how you ask her... in person, message across a blimp during the super bowl, or even on a forum ....

Why the SD mods decided to close the thread that soon. If it was on here, it will be open until they're married. Cold heart mod, he/she ruined their engagement. If I was them, I'll quit posting on the site.

The first thing I saw like this was when cmdrtaco proposed to his girlfriend on Slashdot. It was his site though.. so it wasn't as lame ;) Unique ideas for geeks :)

Would be funny if the Mod closed the thread before she could give her answer

My hat goes out to him and the people in the forum. Instead of ridiculing him they congratulated him. Very nice.
Congrats to the groom and bride to be.

Exactly, the lady seems to be perfectly happy with the way he proposed to her. After all, it was noted that she really likes the site. That's all that matters :)

wow, compare what the ppl are posting on that thread, and what they are saying on this. RFD ppl are really mean, maybe they already talked about it and it was only a matter of when and where ;) .......that would be a nice way to surprise her :D

No question, if you want to marry a woman, you ask them in person.
It's different if you are at a sports event and have the question posted on the message board because you are right beside them and doing it in a unique way (to embarass yourself if she says no - lol).
If the woman said yes, it doesn't say much for her IMHO. She's making it way too easy for the guy.
If you are asking them on a message board, it might mean that you have never even met the other person. Asking to marry someone before even meeting someone would be really dumb.

Huh? This has been done a long time ago. If anyone reads Slashdot, they should know that Rob Malda proposed to his current wife on the front page.

Here is the link (http://slashdot.org/articles/02/02/14/143254.shtml?tid=166) How geeky can one get? :)
Guy: Hey, baby, check out this hot deal, Free engagement ring.
Girl: OMG, I can't believe this. Of course I do.
Guy: now that I got your confirmation, we can actually start looking for a ring. (I do not want to waste money in case you say no)
This is so corny.
