No Copying From First High-Def Players
This could be a problem re sales....many wont buy if they cant copy.
Hackers however might find a way.

Where there is a will, there is a way. They also said it was impossible to copy commercial DVDs, and we proved them wrong.

Theres always the various M.I.C. non-licenced players...in the past with DVD players some bypassed macrovision and region coding 'off the shelf'.

Not always...look at DirectTV....there might be a 'crack' out there but it sure isn't avail to most of us.

Nothing that you watch, is impossible to copy.
They DVD will have to send a proper video signal when you play a DVD (or High-Def DVD) so all you need to do is reconvert the video signal to a different format and there you have a copy. :)

until the output is encrypted and decrypted inside the TV aka. HDCP.

I wouldn't worry about this issue until I can afford the HD burner and the media ... http://www.dolnetwork.com/RFD/smilies/cry3.gif

Yes...in a way...but its still not DTV....but it prob has other benefits and the newer fta models ie Coolsat/Viewsat do give good EPG.

I am not complaining...my point was .....all the smart people have not 'really' cracked this one. There is a will ...but not the way yet.

DTV was hacked.. they spent a ton of money to fix that problem years later.. it's only a matter of time before DTV is hacked again.

This will be hacked.. EVERYTHING gets hacked. I can't name something of high demand which hasn't been hacked.. perhaps there's something, but nothing comes to my mind instantly.
