I'm looking for a fan for the Radeon 9600 Pro video card. They're impossible to find in stores and I don't want to spend more than $20 on a "fancy" fan. My stock fan bit the dust and I'm looking for a cheap replacement. Does anyone have one to sell me or can you suggest a store to look for it?

If you aren't worried about looks, try to find a fan off a slot 1 cpu (celerons I think). I found they work perfectly as the fan mounting bracket fits nicely on the heatsink of most vid cards. Only thing is the fan connector is a 3 pin one so you have to connect to a free mobo fan header.

I have a Thermaltake Crystal Orb that can replace your whole heatsink. $10 + shipping ($2-3? to burlington).

Is this new or used? How about $10 shipped? Will it fit a Radeon 9600 Pro card?

what make is it?
have you tried emailing the manufacturer?

give them the model number and serial number, and they may just mail you a replacement.

if not, look for the coolermaster coolviva.

$15 most places, and it works great, even on a 9800pro. (where i used it)

Well I've had it for 2-3 years now, but I haven't used it for more than a day combined.

As far as I know it will fit a 9600pro. It fits my old 9500NP and 9500 Pro I have now!

If you'll EMT then sure, $10 shipped. I don't need it anyways.

If you want a brand new Arctic Cooling ATI Silencer 2 (http://www.arctic-cooling.com/vga2.php?idx=64) for your ATI 9600 (Pro, XT), you can get it from me for $15.00

Check here for compatibility (http://www.arctic-cooling.com/vga2.php?idx=64&data=7&disc=). Just make sure it's compatible with your specific card, since these are brand new sealed packages, there are no "refunds" ;)

I'll try to make my long story short... :D

In my main (gaming) PC I had the ATI 9600 Pro installed with the stock fan. I removed the stock fan (butchering the pins that hold it on in the process) and installed water cooling. Now I upgraded to an x850 XT card and I tried installing the old 9600 Pro in my new PVR PC I'm building. I attached the fan back on my 9600 Pro with a couple of rubber bands (ghetto!) :D but after using it for a week or so the card crapped out. Now I need to get warranty work done on it, but I need a stock fan (that's not butchered) put back on so I'm going to switch fans with my buddy who also has a 9600 Pro and buy him a new fan to replace it. I'm now looking for that replacement fan for him.
