$540 for an X1800XT 512MB, eh?

I'd rather pay $9 more and get the X1900XT 512MB at Infonec.

http://www.infonec.com/site/main.php?module=detail&id=15718

Better yet, if you wait for another month or two, you'll get these same mid-$500 cards for $400 flat. Wait one more month after that, and you'll see them for $300 used. And that, my friend, is when you buy.

this is what i would do...

find a reliable friend in the states 1st...

add the shipping address to the "note" under your mastercard/visa.

purchase this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814102643R and have it sent to your friends shipping address in the states.

then smuggle it across the border.

i don't know where you are located but i am 30 mins from the states so it's feasible.

289+6 for shipping *1.15 = $339.25 TOTAL.

or you can play it safe and get your friend to bring the videocard across the border for you.

You can get it from Monarchcomputers directly shipped to Canada.

If you don't want to fiddle around with the US, you can get the Sapphire X1800XT for about 360$

where? link plz? i don't see any sapphire x1800xt.

only x1800xt that came up with my search was http://www.monarchcomputer.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=M&Product_Code=190076 for $325.69 + $20 for shipping *1.15 = $397 and possible getting charged more in taxes once you import it.

if don't know anyone in the states, you can try renting a po box in a nearby city and have em ship it there. they are pretty cheap i think.
