Just drop a string with a weight from the top of garage to the windshield. Cost $0.25.

or just place a scrap 2x4 piece on the ground, costs even less :D

Don't you guys use the tennis ball method? Wrap a string around a tennis ball and hang it from the ceiling. Then when your windshield touches the ball, that's where to stop??
