i know its a stupid question, but say you got a $100 worth of giftcards, its $100 and if it costs more, say tax (total $115), you pay out of your pocket that extra $15 rite? or does the giftcard money include taxes already when you purchased it and when you go shopping its whatever the shelf price is and thats final?

if you paid $115 for a $100 valued gift card, i'd say you got scammed.
but back to the question, gift card should only be worth the value that is stated on the card.

so basically you get 100 dollars worth of "cash" that is only usable at the store im to lazy to bust out the calc but you could probably buy around 86 bucks of stuff before tax.

I think he is referring to buying things with giftcards, not buying gift cards.

To answer your question, if you have $100 in gift cards, and the total is $115, you pay the $15 out of your pocket.
