I found I really enjoyed the movie for the most part, and gave it 8/10. It would have been 9/10 if I didn't feel one action was highly out of character.

8/10. Great movie. Nothing super spectacular, although the action sequences were quite suspenseful.

I gave it a 9, would have been a 10 if the plot wasn't all over the place and some of the cg was a little better

It begins in Port Royal on what was meant to be the wedding day of Elizabeth Swann (Keira Knightley) and Will Turner (Orlando Bloom). However, their misadventures at the end of the previous film, rescuing Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp), come back to haunt them with the arrival of Lord Cutler Beckett (Tom Hollander) of the East India Trading Company bearing arrest warrants for the couple. But Lord Beckett offers Will a reprieve if he can get Captain Jack's "broken" compass (which, in reality, points towards one's true desire) for the Company, and so Will finds himself once again thrown into the world of supernatural piracy.

I missed the first few minutes of the movie. We were doing like +20 km/h past stealth cruisers deperately trying to make it on time ;)
I hope I didn't miss anything special. I recall when it started there were some people getting out of the water, and it was gloomy or something like that.
I rated it 8. It was quite good. Genuinely funny. Fun filled and action packed. It definetly wasn't perfect, and some of the slap stick comedy was quite out of place, especially the part where Johny magically falls down an abyss (hitting strung out bridges along the way), and lands unharmed. Wow. I know he was immortal in the previous one, but now the curse is gone.
PS: I think some folks who are rating it too low are forgeting its a "PG" kinda movie. And its certainly not supposed to be a drama.

too long, no conclusion only really setup for part III.
good action sequences, depp good as ever, but again too long, and no good ending kinda makes you feel jipped.

.
well they were filmed back to back like back to the future 2 + 3 were, so the part 3 will come out soon.

I watched it at AMC24 in Mississauga on Tuesday. Sell out crowd. Really really hard finding seats.
And the ending?
Some people in the audience actually rose to applaud and hoot and cheer. After the sombre fate of Jack Sparrow, I couldn't have imagined a better or more fiting ending. It wasn't too dark and depressing, or to jovial.. it was just right.
(PS: Please explain how you would make it better)
