Are there normally good Dell Laptop deals around Xmas or Boxing Day?

Dell seems to have the best laptop deals around.

Those $699 deals look great for the price, but I would rather wait for something that will work with Vista, I think only those Duo CPUS will, correct me if Im wrong.

I'd like to purchase one for someone around Xmas time, from past experience, are there good Dell deals happening around that time? as good as the back to school specials? or do they normally have boxing day blow out specials on the Dell Laptops will be an even better deal?


I just want to make sure that I shouldn't be purchasing it now during the back to school specials.

They have good deals all the time. I find it cyclic. They started off with really good prices for the XPS1210 when it came out, and now the prices are just so-so for a couple weeks. They'll have deals again nearing Christmas but you'll need to pick the 'right week' to buy it (check early November).

I wouldn't trust the boxing day deals to be spectacular. Stores have boxing day sales to get rid of their overstocked inventory but Dell has most machines built upon order received, so they might not necessarily have _that_ great deals.
