Im currently under OSAP.. but my first year in college was tough. My tuition was roughly $2500 and on top of that the expenses I have during a full school year (Food, Transportation and of course BOOKS!).. my OSAP loan was only 1800.. so im short 700.. my parents wont lend me the money (well i asked them i just cant get a straight answer from them) so i was thinkin of getting a small loan from the bank. is there such a thing as a student loan? maybe around $5000 just to cover my a$$ when i need money especially now that september is coming soon. Will it be a very bad idea for me to get a bank loan? What do i need to be granted one?

700 is a very minimal amount of money

get a job...even if its just temp work at placement agency

can always consider an loc from the bank, most likely you will require a co-signer

If you're really in a pinch, you can always use a credit card. Just make sure you have some means of paying it off within a couple of months, since interest is really high.

I would go with what isleepinadrawer said though, just get a temp job.

You've got quite a PC setup for somebody crying poor... maybe time to be a little more fiscally responsible?

Yup, downgrade your pc to a second hand x700pro or 6600gt and a basic set of ddr2 2x512mb. That should put at least $400 in your pocket. Or sell the whole dang thing, you should be able to come up with at least $1000.
