So, going to Wonderland tommorow. :D Got some questions:

-How long do you think line-ups will be...I'm not going to spend like 15mins for a 30s ride...
-The best price I can get on a ticket is $33.68 with corporate code: NESTLE. Can we beat it?
-So with the ticket (mentioned above) I can go on any ride, I don't have to pay anything right? If so, can I get a list?
-What cool rides can I go on? :D I haven't been there for 6 years, and when I want I wasn't allowed on the thrillers :( \

Thanks XD

tomorrow being saturday and with a slight chance of rain your wait time should be cut into half. make sure there aren't any special events happening tomorrow (check the wonderland site)

as for that price, its pretty decent, i think the cheapest out there is like $31 but not sure how to get a hold of those bad boys.

yes you can go on almost every ride, except a few. i.e. the bungee cord, go karts (not sure of any others).

THE BAT/TOP GUN are my favs. none of the other new rides have every come close :P

It's july and Wonderland is the top seasonal park in the world. It can be very busy in the summer.

There's a good chance you should expect mininum 30 minute waits for everything unless the weather is bad. I wouldn't be surprised to expect more like hour waits.

All rides will be included with the exception of Extreme Skyfler which is an extra price if you want to do it.

I'd suggest paying for Skyfler. It's the only ride at the park which can actually scare me. The rest of the park really is somewhat boring to me.

Say I wanted to go on the top gun: http://multimedia.canadas-wonderland.com/images/attractions/pcw_topgun_sm.jpg. If I'm upside down, wouldn't stuff fall out of my pocket...

Is the skyflyer the one where you're harnessed, and on a bungie cord, and let go horizontally?

Park hours tomorow are 10am to 10pm.

To be honest crowds are always crap shoots. Sometimes it'll be good, and sometimes it'll be brutal busy. It's hard to predict.

Depends on your pockets. If you have fairly loose open pockets then there's a chance of losing stuff. I always wear pants/shorts with cargo pockets that can be snapped shut. That way I know my stuff isn't going anywhere.

Correct. It also happens to be one of the most terrifying rides that exist. That's why I love it. ;)

That ride scares me more then any roller coaster ever has. And I've been on most of the worlds tallest and fastest coasters.

How far away do you live?

You don't have to get there super early. Though if you're only going for one day being there for open is a good idea.

It's also a good idea to try and go early and go straight for the most popular rides. Italian Job would be a good place to start, as it's line will probably be the longest throughout the day.

I can agree with that. Rollercoasters don't scare me but when I was hoisted up in the Skyflyer I was shaking like a leaf.

1. GET THERE EARLY!!!! if u aren't there right when the gates open, don't bother (IMO). The lines are disgusting right after lunchtime. If you get there early you can get on one or two rides without any significant line, and the other rides will have small lines!

2. Bring your own food/ go over to the nearby mall and eat @ their food court. Food inside wonderland is atrociously expensive. If you're gunna do this, make sure not to wash the handstamp u will get off, or else u will not be allowed re-entry!

3. Bring your own drinks! You wanna pay 3.25 for a bottle of coke? I didnt think so :D

4. The go-karts there are fun, but its $6 or $7 a pop. If you have time/money, and there is no line, and you're there with a bunch of friends, a good time is sure to ensue (try a little bumping  )

5. My fave rides (in no order) are: Top gun, vortex, the bat, dragonfire (or dragon flyer.. cant remember), mind buster + sledgehammer. Tomb raider is a cool experience too. Almost like flying, but not really.

6. Have fun!

Carnage
Jul 28th, 2006, 05:18 PM
I always thought those go karts looked really slow.

Tomb Raider is nicknamed Womb Raider for good reason, the ride just plain sucks. Minebuster has gotten rough and is a shadow of it's former self. Damn Wonderland for reprofiling hills to fit water slides in.

Hey, this is a fun game. I tried guessing some other companies codes and got similar prices. ROGERS and GMCANADA are both $33.68. CANWEST and CHRYSLER are both $35.66.

Who else on RFD can guess a lower price? :)

IMO, the best deal without any corporate code, discounts, promotions etc etc. is the PAY ONCE VISIT TWICE promo, you pay the regular $56 after tax, but you get to go 2 times.

Which works out to aroun $23.xx each time. Well worth it ... if you plan on going twice, which really isn't that hard to do.

Of course the best deal is season passes, bought at 59.99, the sept. before.

Yeah, typically in the fall they start offering 2007 season passes which include the rest of the current season.

Price is always best the earlier you buy. Though it's still unknown if the season passes will still be as dirt cheap next year. Paramount sold their parks chain to Cedar Fair. PRobably a good chance prices will go up.

Though on the upside there's a good chance CW passes will be good at Cedar Point next year. (though not confirmed yet)

yeah once you go cedar point the rides here well suck. lines will be crazy tomorrow i'm sure being a saturday and wonderland usually has special events on weekends going on too.

i try to go on weekdays mostly since i got a season pass last sept cheap and have already been there around 5 times this season, mostly for the waterpark.

i agree the best deal to go is to get a 2 day pass at mac's or blockbuster...? unsure whether they still sell them there.

if you can't stand waiting 15-30 minutes for the rides i'd say don't bother going.

And Cedar Point is just the tip of the iceburg. There are just as good parks out there, plus more obscure parks with interesting things to offer.

Wonderland is a fun park, but not thrilling, and not original. Everyting wonderland has can be found in Ohio, along with much more. ;)

I know adult says $39.99 + tax however:

This ticket is a web-special only. It cannot be purchased at the Front Gate of Paramount Canada's Wonderland.

Which is why I was wondering what the actual in-park price is (I get a reciprocal employee discount off the gate price)

Don't be that paranoid.

I'd say worst case you'll have lines ranging from 30 minutes to an hour.

Go and enjoy yourself. Even if there are long lines you can still have a good time.

Don't mean to scare you or anything. ;)

The point was that if you get there for opening you can get in a couple rides before the lines start getting longer. So try and get to the most popular rides like Italian job early.

HAHAHAHAHAAAA....

I can definitly tell you haven't been on the 'thriller' rides before.... 15 minute wait for a 90 second ride is pretty damn good for the summer. It's NOT uncommon for people to wait 1 to 2 hours to get on a ride. This is common at any large amusement park on a busy day during the summer, infact it should be completely expected that you're gonna be waiting a while.

Enjoy your trip :)

Though is there any reason why you have to go tomorow?

I mean saturday is always the busiest day for amusemant parks.

If possible going on the sunday instead would mean shorter lines. Just an idea.

Though as an example I went last year on 2 saturdays in July. The first day was empty, maybe 15 minutes to 30 minute waits. The second was the oposite and was packed.

So you never know what to expect. But I'd guess on a saturday you'll get something in the middle.

Ha funny... I'm going there tomorrow too. My sister came to town for the weekend and tomorrow's the only day we could go otherwise we would've gone today or Sunday.

I went on the exact same weekend 2 years ago (Saturday - I remember cause it was the weekend before Caribana) and even though it was really nice outside, the lineups were short. I think the longest we waited was 10 minutes for Vortex and considering how long the line usually is, that's pretty fast.

Jul 29th, 2006, 12:46 AM
Weekdays are the best time to go - much less crowded than on weekends.
But any special event day, like Victoria Day/Canada Day/CHIN day, etc. forget about it - you'll be waiting an hour or more for even the mediocre rides.

Make sure to go on Vortex. Hands down the best roller coaster there IMHO.

I almost fainted on that ride, I felt like I was going to fall off and fall in the water! I was too afraid to go on top-gun, something about sitting in a chair and going that fast and that close to the structure* is scary. Skyflyer looked insane, how high do they launch you from, it was really really high.
*The max. height is 6'5; otherwise you're at extremem risk to hit your legs/arms against the ride!

lol don't go to Cedar Point then till you get your courage up. ;)

Skyflyer is 150 feet tall, you free fall for 90 feet before catching and swinging out.

There's a similar ride in Florida that is 300 feet tall that I badly want to ride. :D

Ok vortex isn't so bad...the only roller coaster that can somewhat freak me is the skyflyer (standing one) because i always black out for a second on the loop.

Overall wonderland is pretty soft, we really need rides like superman ride of steel. That looks awsome.

I'm going to guess you're talkign about Skyflyer?

I can't remmber the exact price, but it's basically $50 per swing.

So if you want to go alone, it's $50. With two people it'd be $25 each, with three it'd be $16.

Those aren't the exact prices, but very close.
