I looked at the Dell Demension 1100 (http://www1.ca.dell.com/content/products/features.aspx/dt_1100?c=ca&cs=CADHS1&l=en&s=dhs) and so far, it's (IMO) the best out their for that price range.

This is a desktop for my mother, so it needs essentials that can run at a decent speed.

Can someone please help? Does anyone know what else is out there for deals?

ThankS

If you can wait, C$299 (without monitor) would be the ideal price point ... http://www.redflagdeals.com/forums/showthread.php?t=282876

Thanks for the help, but that actually seems to be a dead deal now. I am currently looking at the latest Dell Flyer and there is:

The Dimension 1100 Desktop @ 399 (must qoute: 52315 CH11FS1)

Intel Celeron D 335 @ 2.88ghZ 533FSB
WIN XP HOME
512 DDR SDRAM
80GB 7200RPM
17" CRT MONITOR
48X BURNER/DVD DRIVE

and the usual intergrated Vid card, etc.

Also I think on RFD coupons section there is a 50$ off for Dell Desktops over 400$ or something? So potentially this could be closer to 350$ and this is the 2.88GHZ not the 2.5 I've seen floating around.

I'm goign to repost this in the hotdeals forum regarding Dell.

Ok, now I am looking at the Dimension 3100..ha

For a little more, it's better IMO.

Dimension 3100 Desktop for $599
(MUST QOUTE: 52315 ch31fs1)

Intel Pentium 4 Processor 521 with HT Tech @ 2.8GHz 533FSB
Win XP
512 Shared dualk channel ddr2 SDRAM
160GB HD 7200
17" E176fp Flat Panel Display
16x DVD Burner

So, basically, go from CRT to flat panel, Celeron to P4, and 80GB to 160 gb and CD burner to DVD burner.

I'll look around on RFD some more, (again I think about that coupon section for the 50 or 100$ off etc)

anyone else think yes or no? anyoen in my position; looking for best bang for their buck in a computer system?

Here is the link for the 3100, which after looking now, I was only able to find with a CRT or no monitor at all. Dell apparentyly liek to have about 20 different deals on the same System.

3100 Dimension (http://configure.dell.com/dellstore/config.aspx?c=ca&CS=CADHS1&l=en&oc=OCDIM3100_FSI_CH31FS1&fb=1)

I haven't tried to use the coupon posted on RFD, someone else can try it, i need some lunch ASAP.
