Comments:
The focal range on this lens is certainly impressive. 28-300mm in a compact package. This is a great walk-around lens for daylight shooting. This lens covers over 10X zoom range, which will give you the flexibility to frame a variety of shots. The versatility of this lens is truly useful - a decent wide angle and a really long telephoto reach. The lens can also focus at relatively close distances, which when coupled with long focal lengths can give good macro results. This lens is a real 'jack-of-all-trades' type of lens.
However, the best part of this lens is that it is really, really small. It's probably (?) the world's smallest lens capable of 300mm telephoto. This lens is truly lightweight and very easy to carry around. The compact design is amazing. This also makes the lens much less conspicuous, and helps you get those candid zoomed shots! :D. For such a long telephoto lens, it's certainly deceiving when it's folded up.
At the telephoto end, this lens needs a fair bit of light for optimal results, so it's most useful as a daylight walk-around lens. Under good conditions though, this lens is wonderful to use. Stopping down the aperture will give good sharpness. It's perfect for those times when you don't want to carry extra lenses.
Photos of the lens are shown below. Second picture shows the lens fully extended at 300mm. Bottom picture reveals the compactness of the lens (compare versus the Canon EF 50mm/f1.4 USM and the Tamron SP AF70-210mm/f2.8 LD).
Notes: The lens works perfectly, with no notable issues. Lens includes both end caps and hood. A UV and circular polarizer are also included (with boxes). Unfortunately no box is included for the actual lens itself.
Reason for selling: I'm slowly making the move to lenses with large fixed apertures for improved indoor performance.
