**updated for 10 hour pic

This time my proc is retail, just came today (**hugs Ca1n)

So, the only changes I made so far were voltage and cpu freq, disabled ht3 and dram throttling.

Voltage 1.52 I started high and will work down, or up the mhz
Memory 1:1 ddr 800 4-4-4-10 - wouldnt boot with tighter timings :(
cpu freq 400 fsb

= 3.6 running at 60 degrees, dual prime/PI etc

Thoughts or ideas? thanks

Great results! The temp seem a bit high for comfort though, maybe try dropping vcore in small increments to find the lowest voltage the CPU with remain stable at? Also, I would try running stress test for longer period, a 6600 I've tried was stable at 3.6 at 1.5V but would get errors in Orthos after ~8 hours of continuous stress. What are you using for cooling the beast?

Well its still running... I usually go 8 - 24 hours ;)
not that I would ever use the pc @ 100% for that long....
I can't change anything until its done benching.

I am using mushkin xp2 pc2 6400

:)

Good luck, you seem to have a nice clocking CPU, hope it goes higher with more experimenting and tweaking BIOS. Your dedication deserves some great overclocking rewards, you started Orthos at 4:39 in the morning :)

nice oc on the 6600....congrats!personally I would work my way up from stock voltage...I figure no use in giving the processor any more than what it needs to top out,but thats my process :) Time to move back to Intel.... haven't had a Intel chip since the Celeron 300A @ 450Mhz days :cheesygri however I'm going to wait and see what Nvidia's motherboards 570 & 590 are going to bring to the conroe party. One thing, orthos is a multithreaded Sp2004 if you only open one instance and run you will find in task manager that both processors are @ 100% so in essence you are running dual dual prime now....should make for a solid oc. Keep up the good work, I'll follow you're progress on xs....now all you need is watercooling or possibly phase :) 4Ghz anyone?

hahah, thx. I am so new to all of this, but it sure is fun... for now ;)

gonna add a 7950gx2 tomorrow and play some games

I think the next step is water or phase... I just never wanted to make that jump!

thats what mine is under FULL load....

but when do you ever run a pc, under full load for that long of a time.

Normal I would say.
