My interest piqued when someone posted the NorthFace Magic Jacket. http://www.backcountry.com/store/TNF1084/c11/s20/The-North-Face-Apex-Magic-Jacket-Mens.html

I'm not quite looking for something this expensive, so I'm hunting down for a cheaper alternative. It's perfect for the weather now since it's starting to turn and I'm tired of wearing layers to stay warm. Something like this is perfect because you can throw it over a t shirt and not worry about getting caught in sub-10celcius nippy weather at night.

Should I splurge and go for the premium stuff like Columbia, NorthFace because I can't find a cheaper alternative like Gap, Old Navy that sells them.

This one also caught my eye, but it's the same price range:

Do they call these mock turtle neck jackets?

Thanks

if you want to be comfortable wearing tshirt + jacket in chilly weather, northface is where it's at. the quality is top notch, and i like how they fit too (slim).
