just reported 2 hours ago, but William Ford Jr. is giving up his CEO title at Ford Motor Co. He will retain his title as chairman and hand over the reins to Alan Mulally, a veteran executive at the Boeing Company, as its new president and chief executive. Alan is credited with turning around Boeing's commercial airline division.

I say this isn't totally unexpected, particularly in light of his previous comments that all jobs were replaceable with new talent including his own (I'm paraphrasing).

ok, my serious comment this time...

I just hope this doesn't negatively impact Mazda in any way.

That's really the only company in the Ford family that I "care" about, and would be inclined to purchase cars from.

Yup, good move. Just look at the trend Ford is in. They need a new CEO like 10 yrs ago.

Aston Martin, will be the first deadwood to be sold off.
Range Rover and Jaguar will follow.

What the hell Ford thought it was doing by buying and absorbing the losses of these brands, I'll never understand.
