Hey Everyone,
Just wondering if anyone knows how to make the korean dishes that are usually served before the main entree.
Thanks!

you mean korean sidedishes?
hmm most of them are not easy to make as lot of them are pickled dishes. You can buy most of them at korean grocery stores.

They usually take a long time to make and usually made in large batches. Kimchi takes about a few days to get the taste right but here's some quick ones you can make:
Sauteed Zucchini - Korean-style
Slice zucchini into 1/4" thickness and sprinkle a liberal amount of salt on them. Let it sit for a few minutes.
When finished, rinse them under cold water to get rid of the excess salt and squeeze them to get as much water out as possible.
In a pan, heat up some sesame oil, and fry a little bit of garlic. Then add your zucchini slices and add some black pepper. You can finish this dish with some untoasted sesame seeds. Can be served hot or cold and this particular side-dish is found as one of the ingredients in bim-bim bap.

Not sure if you really want to make the kitchen smell like kimchi or chigae for a while.
