So, it appears that it's almost become socially acceptable to wear one at a funeral. Does that mean it can be fashionable or will it always represent a juvenile look?
What are people's thoughts on caps?

Baseball caps at a funeral?!? dont think so .. pretty disrespectful IMHO. Don't think it's proper to wear one in a formal setting i.e. funeral, wedding, workplace. Anywhere else it is casual is ok to me.

Caps are very versatile, I'm definitely giving a http://www.redflagdeals.com/forums/images/icons/icon14.gif to rocking some headwear. Preferrably fitted, as opposed one-size-fits-some or an adjustable plastic strap.

...but not at a funeral.

Personally I don't like Baseball Caps. They don't go well with anything unless your a "gangsta", being in the sun, or going to the game.

the funeral comment was an exaggeration meant as a joke :)

but lately I'm seeing them allowed in quality restaurants, clubs and the like.

Completly dissagree, ive been wearing hats my whole life, never in a "Gansta way", tight round curve and my cap foward. Classic look that'll never fade.
And to stay on the original topic baseball caps at a funeral is definatly disrespectful.

I love baseball caps on guys (but only in the jock/all-american way, not in the "gangsta" way).

But you shouldn't be wearing any head gear that obstructs your face when sitting down to eat (whether it be in a restaurant or even at home). This includes guys and girls. The only exception is patio dining.

To answer the OP, I think baseball caps are still considered to be casual and carefree. Some people may consider this juvenile, I don't, but it's definitely a casual look.

I've always uncovered my head for respect (serious events)

i used to rock the new era hats a few years ago, but i got tired of spending $40 every time i wanted one...i just wear the plain solid colour flexfit hats now because it's cheaper on the wallet...

and a definite no to wearing hats at formal events for me

I have a New Era Jays and a Nike Leafs full back hat, both were birthday gifts and I love them. I think they are perfectly fine for most occasions, funerals not being one of them

I don't where a hat often, but when I do it's normally because I'm playing a sport.

Alot of higher end clubs do not allow baseball caps...I've seen people denied entry due to it.

I spent the $6 for a membership at Lids for 20% off, already paid for itself. Works out to something like $35 after tax per hat; still expensive, but worth it if you get 3+ hats a year (I share it with friends and family).

Athlete's world and some other athletic stores are also doing a Buy 1, Get 2nd 50% off on hats and they carry some New Era ones. Selection of styles and sizes isn't nearly as good, but they have most of the major hockey and Jays caps.

I wear one a lot. Just not indoors.

I've always got a hat on, mainly because I'm too lazy to fix my hair.
At the library studying, early morning classes, running errands, even at restaurants (nothing classy). Then, there's the obvious, sporting events. I don't know what I'd do if I didn't have my hats... I guess I'd be forced to fix my hair. :|

Am I the only one that finds baseball hats look nicer when they are worn backwards? I have a new era jays cap and I don't think it looks good when i wear it frontwards

Baseball caps are great for casual days when you don't want to do your hair before going out.

Always hated these hats, always will. I just don't think they look good.

I think thier nice, as long as thier not overloaded with logo's on it. The more simple, the better.
