PM opportunity against FS, they're selling this at 89.99. But is this the same product? Link (http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?logon=&langid=EN&sku_id=0665000FS10073644&catid=)

One and the same, but FS will pull an excuse out of their ass, something about Dell not being an authorized reseller...

I managed to PM the 1G regular SD with Dell. Just go up a CSR and ask "do you PM with Dell?" Don't even mention the product and price you are PM'ing with until they say "yes." If the the price difference is too wide, they are more inclined to say "no."

One and the same, but FS will pull an excuse out of their ass, something about Dell not being an authorized reseller...Agree. It is a hit and miss depending on the CSR. Two days ago, I PM FS using Dell.ca and successful. This week FS has a sale on for $59.99 with $30 MIR. $20 after MIR. In my case, with the PM and MIR, it is free. I pay only $1 something with sales tax.
Because of the sale this week, it is OOS. Here is the RFD thread on this deal. http://www.redflagdeals.com/forums/showthread.php?t=337591&highlight=1GB+kingston

The Image on Dell is not working. Anyways, the Man Part# on Dell is SDM/1GB, on FS it's SDM/1GBCR. So, YMMV.

better if you come prepared and bring in printouts of Dell's price.
---------
where does it say free shipping??
add it to cart, and then at checkout, there's a hyperlink where it says "calc. s/h charges"...
after you input ur location and PC, it'll say s/h is $0.00

Yes - I took printout of the web page after adding it to my cart. If you are interested in the same product, just print up a copy the FS receipt as well and bring it with you.

I believe this one at Dell.ca is same as the one at BestBuy.ca
http://accessories.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=ca&l=en&s=dhs&cs=CADHS1&sku=A0475931
and
http://www.bestbuy.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?sku_id=0926INGFS10057092%20%20&catid=20093&logon=&langid=EN
Problem is the Manufacturer Part # is different. At Dell.ca, the # is SD/1GB, and at BestBuy.ca, the # is SD/1GBCR. So, I am not sure will BB do the PM if the # is different.
However, if BB is gonna honor it, then I think it will be like this:
BB: $49.95 + $30 MIR
Dell: $31.20
like mahjongmaniac said, the PM price is $29.30 + tax and then add $30 MIR.
I will go to try my luck tomorrow! :-0

that seems pretty decent.
Thank God I'm not buying a compliant cellphone in the interim that'll need this. Hopefully the K790 that Rogers will release...hopefully before the year 2007 will come bundled WITH a 1Gb anyway.

FS will make an excuse on part # not being the same. I called http://www.Mobel.com Mr. Price told me CR at the end means "Canadian Retail" therefor the parts are exactly the same. Mobel.Com is where FS buys their Kingston products from. The other day day FS told me they do not match Dells prices because they are not Kingston authorized reseller. Take a printout of the FS receipt and you should not have any problems.

I'm looking at buying a new phone within the next 30 days or so and I'm almost sure that the phone I want has an expandable memory capability but needs the Micro SD Card. Since it's only save $8 really from what it was, what's the likelyhood of another sale with any company out there. Or do these cards not go on sale at all, or is this a good one? Anyone's opinion is appreciated.
P.S. How long does this sale run for?

Successfully got the PM at Futureshop in Halifax. The folks at the camera counter were surprised how cheap the Dell.ca price was, but we brought it up on their computer, and after a quick call (to MOD?), they put it through. Apparently I was the first one to do it at this store (that these folks knew about), and there are still 3 left. Have at her!
I was really concerned that (a) the picture wasn't showing up on Dell's page, and (b) delivery time wasn't immediate, both of which I was prepared for them to use as deal breakers. But they did it no problem, so good luck to the rest of you.
Also, keep in mind this is MINI SD technology, not regular or MICRO SD sizes. So make sure your device can take it. Though, of course, it does include an adapter to work in regular SD slots.

I don't disagree, but I was surprised it wasn't a sticking point.

well, if that place was an easy PM location for you, you'd want to bare that in mind... for future PM deals of course ;)

true... PMing nowadays at FS/BB is like a kick in the nuts if the CSRs/MODs like to be anal about it....

I've been pretty lucky: they're the only FS in town (and Halifax doesn't have a BB), and I've never been turned down for a PM. Us East Coasters must be more laissez-fair when it comes to the big companies losing money, even the ones we work for. Which might explain the high unemployment rate...

"laissez-fair" as in "lazy & fair" ? :D
btw, no BB in your town?... wow... so i suppose when it came to online order returns, you'd have to call up BB CS and get'em to come p/u your returned item(s)?
