Got my Best Buy flyer tonight and took a buncha pics of it. Better quality than last time, though some are a big blurry in parts. Macro on or off won't correct that problem and I'm too lazy to.

I'm guessing because the Eaton Centre is opening a Best Buy, they're having a GTA sale for it. And if you line up 30 mins before the doors open Fri-Sun, you can draw for a $500 gift card.

It connects... where the old theatre used to be... actually... Canadian Tire is down there and BB is on top. Although it's easier to get to BB on via the street.

That looks like the Prima PV-935 DVD player (the one in the black). If so, that's a really good price.
Although it might not be as good as the big names, it does use the same chip as some of the better players. I bought it for $71.99 during the PC sale in the west. Too bad it looks like this is just for GTA, or else I would buy it again (and refund the other one heh heh).

Compared to other low end ( < $100 ) players, this Prima:

is region free (and user selectable regions) right out of the box
has HDMI (with option to change audio output from HDMI to SPDIF)
has the option to turn HDCP off
upconverts over component (dunno if you have to set HDCP to off first, I just have it off)
supports both 480i and 480p (720) over HDMI (and other HD resolutions, at 50 or 60 Hz)
supports NTSC and PAL TVs (setting in the player, however, I haven't tried a PAL disc yet)
supports Divx
has analog 5.1 audio out (dunno what for)
has connectors for coaxial and digital audio out
has multi-language menus (option for it, not tested)

Doesn't come with component or HDMI cable.
Has a crappy manual, but I'm sure you guys can figure it out.

Good player for a backup to your current (expensive) player, or great for new player until you buy a HD player.

GTA sales = not only the grand opening store?

BuildBuyBreed
Sep 14th, 2006, 12:09 AM
GTA sales means all BB's in Toronto including Burlington and they open Fri/Sat 10:00 and 11:00 Sun, BB Eaton Centre opens 9:00

PNY 1 GB USB key is $19.99 after $11 MIR and $59 instant.
Shure E2C $69.99 (no MIR)

I like the HP plasma 42" for $1799 or Westinghouse LCD 32" for $799.

I don't think I'd get in trouble for posting the flyer... I don't work for BB and I got the flyer in the mail, so it's publically available. Not my fault they don't update their website with the new flyer before I get it in the mail.

does it clearly write on the flyer that it is available in other GTA locations? does Newmarket count as GTA? No i am guessing Yes, the last page of the flyer says "Celebrating in all 14 stores in the GTA". The listed stores include Newmarket, Burlington, Ajax, Whitby, etc.

BTW, the small print on each page of the flyer says "All products limited to 1 per family unless otherwise indicated."

THIS IS NOT THE FLYER ... I REPEAT ... THIS IS NOT THE FLYER
The flyer the poster put up is the one received across the GTA
The "Bay And Dundas" Flyer is different ... similar sales but some things are changed (including cheaper prices on some items) ...

I don't have a scanner but maybe someone who has this can post it up, since it's a different flyer altogether. Another user in the other BB thread was speaking about it and he's correct. THERE IS a "Local" flyer.
DO NOT rely on this ... the prices will be in effect but some of the sales are EVEN BETTER at the Bay & Dundas Grand Opening.

ok check this out...last labour day sale at best buy they had a sale for the 37" Westinghouse and i went for it, but i went for the bundle with the yamaha 5.1 speaker system and "free" HD starchoice satellite dish...it was listed at $1799+tx but at the time, it was showing that there would be no GST so it really came up to $1691+tx...

a few days later i decided that i have no use for the starchoice satellite (since i'm in a condo) and i wanted to exchange it for a rogers HD box instead. Since the Rogers box retails for $199 at the time and the starchoice was listed at $179, i had to argue with the manager for about 25 mins and finally they agreed for me to pay the difference of $20...so the total came up to about $1951 tax in for the entire bundle with the rogers HD Box.

my question is, do you guys think that was a good deal or should i return/price adjust to get the $1499 price for the westinghouse 37"?

thanks!

Toshiba laptop for $599.99: http://www.bestbuy.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?logon=&langid=EN&sku_id=0926INGFS10076185&catid=20354

interesting cuz as per national flyer, the Viewsonic is supposed to be $270....

One could pricematch that lappy with stooples.ca ($749) and use $30 and $20 off coupons to bring the price down to $535 plus taxes, no?

let's see....

the PM price is $585...

less $30off150 and 2x $20off200's ( "$70off550" ) = $515

$20off200's should be readily avail. (threads around somewhere)... as for applying that 3rd coupon, you'll have to phone in for that :)

i'm not sure, but if that's a new item, that could be a reason why.

EDIT: nm, prbly not a new item...

you can find it on FS for $80 - http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?logon=&langid=EN&sku_id=0665000FS10073368&catid=24157

Are the Toshiba Satellite A110-CF1F 15.4" Intel Celeron M 410 1.46GHz Laptop listed in the GTA flyers @ 499.99 French models or English? Just wanting to make sure since the online flyer leads me to the french models instead of the english ones. :?:
