Don't say that! I'm hoping my piddly one laptop makes it through ... besides, it would take you a long time manually punching in all those coupons! :)

Honestly though, is Phantom Saturday stock night really that notorious?

Yeah, but that's not the point.

The point is that if you order 99 it will get cancelled for sure. If you order one - you may be one of the lucky people that will get it fulfilled as they will probably have very few left - if at all, of course, after they have recalibrated their "stock".

We all gave it a shot ... what the heck right?

There is a 99% guarantee that if it's not in stock during the week, it won't be on weekends. True they do a bit of inventory on the weekend and may have a few added to the stock but I can tell you that most of these repenished stock is either open box, refurbished, returned, or not in the greatest conditions. You can always do a return but if you do return it due to its poor condition on arrival you WILL have to ship it back to Staples in order to do the return and may even have to argue a bit with them.

Alright, fair enough.

Let's say for the sake of argument that someone does get their order fullfilled ... and they get an open boxed, poor conditioned, refurbed etc ... wouldn't that be a violation of some sort of consumer act that they did not advertise that said product was in that condition? Especially the refurb, open box case?

Or is Staples really that bad? (It would not surprise me though, put it that way)

They stated CLEARANCE, and thats fair enough to say that the products may not be in the greatest conditions. I have received a totally used and damaged (returned as well) product from Staples before, there was even a 3 page thread discussing what happened afterwards somewhere here. In the end I had to go through a big fuss just to get it exchanged.

Ture, they did clearly state "CLEARANCE" ... but i'm unaware that by stating "CLEARANCE" means that it's inferred "refurb, open box ..." in a consumer-setting.

I thought that if it was refurb you have to state "refurb" ... not some generic catch-all term. That's to prevent abuse of the system ... but I suppose with Staples it's an acceptable term of business.

Oh well, off to check my email to see if I get a "sorry ..."
