Anyone tried it yet?

Also, which joystick would you recommend? Using the keyboard to fly is a pain.

yes using hte keyboard is really terrible as the flight stick does not come back to center, so i can never fly smoothly
a decent joystick which is not too expensive wud be good. any recommendations?

I'm using an old Logitech Wingman and it works fine. Everyone seems to be complaining about the graphics even on a monster machine which I agree with but the game is made with the future in mind (Vista/DX10) so we'll see how it turns out. The 14-15 gigs of hard drive space required is pretty massive and very few of the FS9 custom made planes will work properly with FSX. I hope the FSX community starts pumping out planes that work with FSX.

i tried the demo
seems pretty good
but then i start to desire real simulation joysticks and throttle control
...

for sure the community will pump out lots of planes
they always have for every Flight Sim MS brings out

omg im so happy that i finished the Tokyo Executive mission
not just taking the execs to the airport but i also did the extra mission attached to it
i flew the jet to the islands and landed on that weird floating runway

heck of a mission
really tough, glad im done with it

landing a heli on a helipad on top of a building was tough
using a jet to follow another jet wasnt easy either with their jet speeding up and slowing down and i had to stay behind them always...
but i finally got my knighthood badge :D

anyways, these interesting missions made the game a lot more addictive

this game is so memory intensive, i think 2GB is necessary for a decent level of details

good job MS

Ya I heard about that mission but I know I'm not good enough to try it yet. People are starting to make their own missions and uploading them to thebig sim community sites.

I'm a big FS9 fan and have tonnes of scenery & planes for FS9.

But FSX fails to impress. It is very slow compared to FS9. And if I turn down the details, I don't see any big diff between FSX & FS9.

When even the 8800gtx dx10 card refuses to gun this game at highest resolution with maximum details and settings, then I know the game programmers at MS just plain sucks.

Where did you read that review?

I am interested about it.

Thanks

yeah true

but FSX is made for high end comps eh

how come it wont work with 8800GTX though?
thats strange
maybe a new patch is coming out, after all, the game came out before the card came out right?

Still doing the beginner missions.

I am currently flying with a gamepad so controlling the throttle is fairly tough as I have to switch hands in order to use the F1-F4 keys. I miss having a joystick with throttle control.

yeah having a joystick definately helps a lot!

i finished the oil rig transport a couple of days ago
that was so hard, had to land on a catwalk under time constraint!

by far the toughest mission i had to do
except the landing on a school bus one...

good thing about it is that u can use the slowest simulation rate if ur hands are too full or if your controls are finicky

yeah having a joystick definately helps a lot!

I bound Throttle up and Throttle down to keys on the gamepad so it's semi-playable now.

I just finished the Innsbruck Approach mission, it was tough!
