Starbucks Green Tea Frappuccino - Limited Time at Richmond, BC Starbucks Only
Hi,
I was at Starbucks on No. 3 Road (next to Chapters) and a barista introduced me to a new Frappuccino: Green Tea Frappuccino.
She told me that this is a limited-time test and this flavour is only available at Starbucks stores in Richmond only.
The other North American test market is New York's Chinatown area.
Give it a try if you can! It's very good.

Interesting. Is it a coincidence that they're test-marketing in areas with large clusters of orientals?
Is there a green tint to the drink?

It would be even more interesting if they've asked the baristas to keep tabs on the visible demographics of the people buying the drinks. A bit dangerous (from a PR perspective) if word got out that it was happening, but interesting just to see whether the flavour is appealing only to a limited portion of their market (ie. the Asian contingent).

Hi,
By the way, you will NOT see Green Tea Frap. on the menu. There is a very small sign behind the counter showing the baristas how to make one.
The drink is green, like green tea ice cream.
You can make it at home:
- 2 scoops of vanilla ice-cream
- 2 tea spoons of green tea powder (available at tea places like Ten Ren's Tea in Chinatown)
- a little of milk or water, as needed, to dilute the mixture
Blend everything together in a blender. Add more ice-cream or sugar to adjust for sweetness.

I don't head out to Richmond on a regular basis, but if the downtown Vancouver locations start serving them, I'll definately try one.

Better question... Why am I posting to it to ask such a question, and therefore bumping it back up to the top AGAIN?
