Huh? Loopholes as in? Parking enforcement? Campus Bylaw enforcement? Criminal Enforcement? Liquor/tobacco enforcement? Asset protection?

Not sure what you're trying to get at here?

It depends-what do you mean by "loopholes"? Do you mean safety vulnerabilities? Laws or policies that restrict the security personnel's actions? You need to be more specific.

Or, do you mean the employment loopholes for hiring security guard?

Oh do you mean how York University campus security is completely useless? How they will do nothing if you're getting the living **** kicked out of you except call the police like any other person would do? Or how they drive around in those cars flashing their sirens playing police?

I have heard that they cannot enforce parking tickets, so they cannot force you to pay. They just don't give you degree if you have withstanding tickets. However if you park with your parents car or something like that you can basically avoid paying for parking. However I have heard this so I'm not 100% sure and they might tow your car at some point anyways.

Parking enforcement is not exactly "safety vulnerabilities".

I walked through the surrey and burnaby sfu campus with no id. I think you should have to show id to go into the buildings. Walk through the campus with a fake gun to test security.

I think the fact that you can't really define a student at a College or University is probably the obvious and largest loophole (where as AGE is a good indicator in High School) ...

I've walked all over the Ryerson campus at different hours without much tracking when security is "Keeping an eye" ...

The other loophole is there is not enough for the amount of students, so crime such as theft still occurs.

Probably not the type of loopholes you want but ...

I don't know if it's a loophole, but a lady always comes into the student union building at UBC to collect cans. I think she hides her garbage bags, because she only carries a small one into buildings to be discrete. There's actually a couple of can collectors actually (and all elderly chinese for some reason)... they're pros  There's one pair (husband/wife?) who have a wooden stick over their shoulders and have bags on either side of the stick to balance the weight... and another who puts his garbage bag on those shopping cart things you see people in Chinatown use.... then instead of walking he sneaks onto the bus with all his cans using the back door (which is supposed to be for pass holders).

EDIT: For those who mentioned ID's... is that even an issue? I thought anyone could go into campus buildings, not just students?

That's the case with UW. If your car is not registered with UW (i.e. if you've never registered this car for a parking pass), you don't have to pay. If your car is registered though, they'll withhold your diploma/transcript etc.

Don't think its really worth it though if you park regularly. The pass is only about $100/term. Thats my parking for 2 weeks in Toronto. And if you don't park regularly, theres always the plaza.

uoft, mcmaster, uofw all have 'special constables' as their security...
they are sworn in police officers with only jurdistiction on campus.
they carry a asp extendable baton and OC "pepper spray".

Yeah, it's not worth, but it's still a loophole, which is what OP was asking for.

My school, they boot cars that habitually don't pay parking tickets.

Not many loopholes left. Staff must wear a badge if they want to go into restricted area and security actually enforces it.

My school has no panic buttons, that could be a loophole

Didn't realize some universities have rent-a-cops. The security at the University of Saskatchewan has the same power as police. Many are actual police some carry guns
