I was at my local Costco here in Montreal and I saw a guy buying a Daytek 42" plasma for $1199.99 (Demo Model)...I bought the Viewsonic N3752 last week but was very tempted with the Daytek 42" plasma....only thing is the Daytek didn't have any hdmi ports...or built in tuner...but it was HD ready...

What do you guys think? what would you go for?

The daytekdoes have 1 hdmi, and 10% off is standard for floor models at costco.

I would think 10% is not enough given the reduced life span the set will have. I assume costco leaves the demo sets on 24 hours??

hmmm..maybe I was too excited when I was looking at the back of the tv but I didn't see any hdmi ports...although the regular price is/was $1499.99 now selling for 1199.99 demo floor model so it is actually 20% off !

I like Daytek...good panels for the money but I wouldn't buy a floor model. The potential headaches outweigh the benefits.

so most of you would go for the viewsonic 37" LCD over the daytek 42" plasma?...just curious....

Costco return policy means problem = return. If picture quality is equivalent, bigger is better.
