hey i just recently got a 80GB ipod video. So i took some movies and converted them to mpeg4 and put them onto the ipod. When watching from the beginning of the movie, the sound and and video are insync. However, when i skip to a part say about the middle of the movie using the skipping option, the audio is off from the video. I was wondering if this is a common problem, or if its something with my converted video files?

99% a problem with the conversion.

if it isnt, then the iPod is simply a defected unit.

i use ImTOO Movie Converter 3 to convert my movie files. This program has a preset setting for ipod video 2nd gen so thats what i used. What program do you suggest i use to convert?

when you convert, did you line up the settings for the original file with the converting settings? Like for my IMTOO Ipod movie converter, when i click on the file, it tells me the frame rates and everything else about the file.

Try putting those into the converting settings.

I suggest lowering the bitrate or cutting up the video. I usually do that on my phones and it works fine.

ok the problem was with the program i used to convert. I found another program and the audio and video are fine now when skipping to different section of movie.
