I've never been able to get BB to PM CanadaComputers. Different sales people give me different reasons. Some say they are not authorized dealers, some say they're not big enough, etc.. etc..

Anyone able to?

Yes, many people have. In most cases yes but YMMV. Sometimes when they're busy they don't even bother checking stock, etc.

Don't these have issues with the amp blowing up all the time?

Oh....I thought this was extreme-pc....and thinking wtf, they said it was a one time back to school sale. Then I checked the website. It's some other one lol.

Well I'll tell you what I think. If you leave it on long for very long periods and crank it up real loud, the back gets real hot and I think that could be a main reason for amps n all dying. Theres a metal plate on the back which is the heatsink basically. It takes forever for it to transfer heat out and cool it down one it's turned off. So I stuck a PC case fan on the back and connected it to an AC adapter and taped it to the back. It works and pushes out the heat on the backplate basically sucking heat out of the system(sorta) instead of moving it around inside. I got a real loud fan though, looking to get a bigger fan which takes up more surface area though. If u do this, you just would want to tape it real tight against the back so it doesn't vibrate and make rattling noise. Other than that, it works great.

Does Klipsch make decoders? I have a small living room and these would be great if I could find a dolby decoder for it.

I'd be more interested if it had more inputs and more kinds of inputs. Just 6 channels in 3 stereo miniplugs, plus one aux stereo miniplug.

No one is bitching about dying amp this time ?

When it's outside Ontario, you guys complain, but when it's close to you, it's a good deal

I just got back from CC's North York location, with a set of the speakers. :D When I got there, there's no sign of the sale. So I asked the staffs and most of them didn't seem to know about the sale.

I can't wait to set it up and test it. :cheesygri

p.s. Oh, I forgot to thank you the OP again for the sweet sweet deal. :-P

IMO, It looks like the problem is actually not as serious as we've thought. None of RFD members who bought one, weren't happy with it.

The price is attractive. But how about the warranty?

I don't see CC as an authorized dealer...

CC has a 30 days direct replacement and a 90 days warranty. I had to asked the staff when I bought it, concerning about the amp issue. I don't think it's as bad as it seemed to be, just need to keep the sub/amp well ventilated and slowly burn it in.

The only way to know is to call Klipsch or Canada Computers and ask. Only a few of their authorized dealers are on the list.
When I entered my postal code for each type of product line, I only saw a few small stores beside London drug, none of the big names as BB, FS, A & B sound, Visions, ect... and we all know that FS and BB carry Klipsch products.

There's a sticker on the box states that it's shipped from Klipsch Audio Technology to CC's warehouse location. Authorized dealer or not, Klipsch should honour the warranty on their products.

Sorry for my dumb question. Can this be used as a normal Home Theater speaker with normal receiver? It looks like computer speakers. Thanks

Well I don't have the speakers set up the way it's supposed to be, so I can't say for sure. I also don't have anything to compare them to so I guess the standards are set too high already and I'm expecting to hear magical stuff. The back gets real hot if I leave it on an hour @ full blast but still works, after putting a fan on the back, it gets warm and thats it. I'm not as afraid to blast it at full volume. I do it quite often actually. Now that I think of it, it's not that loud. Either, I'm expecting too much, or I'm going deaf. Usually when u turn it up loud quickly ull notice how loud it is, but when it's on loud for a long time u won't notice how loud it actually is.
