This Haitian girl had a successful surgery:

I saw that haitien girl during a TLC documentary... similar case with some asian toddler too. Pretty gross, the surgery just takes the weight off, still leaves them deformed and scarred for life.

Indeed. Tumors & sickness should not exist, at least not on kids. But I guess that's why christians say, "god works in mysterious ways sometimes..."
