Directcanada.com are owned by NetLink; NCIX's parent company. I've used them a couple of times (when they were cheaper than NCIX) and found that they offer the same level of service as NCIX (ie good).

ncix pricematches pretty much everyone (as long as it's in stock) .. vibecomputers has a good rep but their prices arent as good

DC has great prices, especially when they update their sale every couple of weeks. And free shipping over $300. I use them to pricematch NCIX quite frequently. :cheesygri

If only Canada Computers didn't have such a bad reputation... it's got what I want for the best price! :( :(

NCIX doesn't even have any Semprons in stock anymore!!

I buy most of my hardware from CC ..so long as it's a name brand and isnt a refurb etc they should be ok ..I've never had a problem ..but they're just down the street from me and I know what I'm getting before going

www.memoryexpress.com <- This is the best computershop for moi, as i live 2o minutes away from it. They are Calgary & Edmonton based. They prices are better then NCIX's and are somewhere along the lines of Direct Canada. I don't know about shipping service, but for walk-in those guys rock! Exchanged what I wanted to with no problem a couple of times. (5 actually)

I hear nothing but good things about Mem.Ex. :) I'm an Albertan, too. It's a good 1.5 hour drive to get to one of them, but shipping won't be atrocious either.

Prices are good. Not amazing, but no worse than NCIX, and they still have Semprons.

I've had nothing but good service from DC. Shipping as mentioned is very competitive; $8.99 normally free if over $300. I'm in Ontario so this is important to me. Their prices are usually the lowest in the country.

don't know about the EMT. maybe?

+1

Everytime I see a better price elsewhere, I just PM with NCIX. It also means I save the PST :D

that's the direction I'd go as well, but they don't sell any more Semprons!! NCIX is completely out! :(

Observant. ;) You get five points! *ding*

Boy, I wish the perfect deal was just screaming out at me - NCIX has no stock on the cheap stuff,
Canada Computers has the rep for screwing people over...
Direct Canada has some stock problems on the cheap stuff too...
Memory Express has stock but limited motherboard choices and higher prices....

I just can't have my cake and eat it too. I'll have to pay more than intended to get what I want - but it beats saving money and possibly getting screwed over.

DC and ME are looking brightest at the moment. ME has best rep and is closer to home -- DC has some RFD glowing reviews and better prices.

Time to debate is almost over. Wish the perfect combo would show up in stock overnight. ;)

(Must be nice to have the money to just buy whatever you want!!) ;)

Why would ya want a AM2 Sempron for anyways ???

Obviously on a budget, but wants an upgrade path for later. S754, S939 = dead -end.

I understand that but why couldn't he just buy a low end A64 cpu then if he can't get a sempron is what I'm sayin

I can speak for myself, y'know.

And the answer is simple. Forty bucks.

Sempron 3000/3200 = ~$60
A64 3200 on sale = $100

I already have an X2 3800+ from a Dell system I'm trading parts from.

The inlaws get a shiny new Dell with a Sempron (they'll love it) and I've got the X2 3800+ with (hopefully) just a bit of overclocking.

DANGIT! Good place, parts I need - great prices. Shipping is pricey, but meh.

Moot point - they won't take EMT. :( :( :(

ordered a mobo, ATX PSU, and an ASUS X1950Pro (http://www.directcanada.com/products/?sku=10530BD9068&vpn=EAX1950PRO/HTDP/256M&manufacture=ASUS) from DirectCanada.

Items were in stock, order was accepted and my credit was charged the full amount. Received order on Monday. Paperwork in the shipped box is not a "true" packing slip as all items were listed but the video card was missing. Order Tracking on their website erroneously lists order as "Fully Shipped". Called them right away and they said video card was on backorder and would ship this week. Called them on Friday and they said video card should ship next week.

How much patience should I have in this situation before I ask for a refund on the video card? I'm getting a pretty good price on the video card ($201.96) and shipping was free.

Just give them a break. DC is backed up by NCIX, and they're not a company that will run off with your $200, lol.

i am giving them a break because i know of their relationship to ncix. an x1950 pro for $200 is a good price so i'm willing to wait for a bit. but their documentation, communication, and lack of reply to my email and online feedback worry me a bit.

oh and my cc has been charged the full amount...so until i get my video card, they've technically "run off" with my $200. there's no need to do a chargeback just yet. i'll wait for a few more days.
