Hi Guys,

Just wondering if anyone has got a parking ticket parking on a residential stree in Richmond Hill ON and ticket says no parking between 3am-5am. This was on a residential area where there are no signs indicating that there is no parking in the area. I live in toronto and stayed over night at a friends house, I drove around to many different residential areas and still didn't see any no parking signs.

Anyone have experience how to fight these tickets ?

Thanks,

Andro

i'am pretty sure that there is a by-law stating that you can't park car on a street overnight, especially now since it was snowing.

As with Andro you don't need to see a sign that says no parking.

If the city has a by-law that says "From X month to X month, no parking between these hours".

It's a town by law I believe, so there are no signs. Still a valid ticket though.

i believe that by-law works all year round, but they enforce it even more in winter.

That is a valid ticket. The no overnight parking is in effect year round in Richmond Hill.

Needs some suggestion on where to park extra cars. Im about to move into richmond hill this week (located 10mins from silver city threatre highway 7 and yonge), and my drive way only fits 1 car (2 if i park inside the garage). We have 3 cars where else can we park overnight. I spoke to my neighbours and they tell me i can park overnight on the plaza beside us where the TD bank and Shoppers drug mart is. Can i do that without being ticketed?

It's a private area so chances are the only way you'll get a ticket is if one of the shop owners call parking enforcement or w/e.

Is that a typo?!

The sign is posted everywhere as soon as you enter the town

You also probably don't know there's a 3 hour limit on the street as well that they can enforce during the daytime

-Just realized this is from 2007.

darkmagician, call the city and ask if they have any permits or any options they can provide you.

I did. Sadly the only thing they told me is to make my own accommodation for parking. Richmond hill does not have parking permits and theres no overnight parking between 3-6am. Im going to camp out one night and see if they ticket the cars at the plaza across my street. Theres like a dozen cars parked there when i left at 1am.
