Hi, I think there's something wrong either with my computer's power supply
or my surge protector but I don't know which:
I was using my desktop which was connected to my apc surge protector when
I heard 2 crackling noises a few seconds apart. After a few minutes I turned
my computer off and the power supply off as well as the surge protector. I
noticed the on/off switch for the surge protector was very warm and there
was a smell of burnt plastic.
Later in the evening I was using my laptop with the surge protector and it
seemed fine but when I switched on the power supply for my desktop there
was a flash near the on/off switch and I think the yellow overload light
also came on very briefly. I turned the surge protector on and off and
the same thing.
Anybody know if this is a problem with the surge protector or the power
supply on my desktop? Both were working without any problems until
the crackling noise. Thanks!
