BBV: Crackdown Trade-in: NEVER MIND

I saw a Crackdown display in a Blockbuster and asked them if you can pre-order it for 3 360 games or 4 last-gen games (same deal they've had recently for other pre-orders). She said yes!

YMMV as there were no displays indicating this. I'm going to do the trade this evening and will update if there is any additional info.

UPDATE: The info I was told at BBV was wrong and there is no trade-in for Crackdown pre-order deal. Sorry about that.

If it's more than $8, you're better of going to EB.

this can be a good deal because some BBV will take *any* game with a TIV of over $0. For the God of War trade in I was able to bring in games with trade in value of $3 and $4.

if you have newer games, you may be able to take advantage of the EB games trade in 3 to get crackdown deal, but they all have to have value of over $8

I found the demo quite lame, shut it off within 10mins. Not a fan of the cartoony SNES graphics and how your character runs like a robot on steroids. :cheesygri

This game is already the most over rated game of 07 so far.

I cannot believe people will pay to beta test a game. God. Working for free is one thing, but PAYING to do someone's job? Holy crap. The scary thing is, you're not the only one. My cousin is going to be doing the same thing. For me... if I'm not in it through Rule of Three, I'm not in it. Don't care. I think the only game I'd ever think of buying a game to beta test would be Smash Bros. Brawl, and even then it'd have to be a game I like.

I went to do the trade and the Manager said I was given incorrect info, there is no deal to trade for Crackdown. He was kind enough to still do it for me, but for this deal it looks like YMWV (You Mileage Will Vary).

It's basically GTA on steroids....and if you actually get a chance to PLAY the game you'll see it looks a lot better than the SS's do.
I love it,and I was never a huge fan of the GTA series...always found that it was edgy,just not much "fun".
This game has all the over-the-top fun that GTA lacked IMHO....jumping from rooftop to rooftop like The Hulk,throwing cars & ELIMINATING USELESS POS GANGS.:D

lol i played the game its alrite... i dont mind haveing it stick around but at the same time i want to play halo3... worst that can happen is ill hate crackdown play the beta till im bored and sell it off on bst and lose $20-30, cost of 2 bbv rentals

they do i believe, but the plus side of EB is that you can do trade 3 games and get crackdown............futureshop never offers that.

almost always you're better off at BBV b/c BBV usually has higher TIVs for most games.


the min. TIV is not really impt at BBV, it's how much they resell it for that they have to consider - it must be able to resell for $14.99 or more.

usually games that have a $6-7 TIV have a resell value of $14.99+

I completely agree!
I DL'd the demo just out of curiosity,as did a friend of mine.
Needless to say we've been playing a couple of rounds online almost every night since we got ahold of it.
All our retail games have been held on the back-burner because of this demo....too much fun!!!!!!!!!

I'm thinking of preordering this game, but yet to try out the demo. The Halo 3 Beta is of no concern to me since I already am a Beta tester. Hopefully Crackdown is worth the purchase though!

That's my initial reaction too. Then I fire it up second time and stuck with it. Found it to be AWESOME once you level up.

Will be pre-ordering soon.

Yeah it's the full version, it's in the 3rd island with the asian gangs. I was still doing the first island but I skipped ahead and managed to escape back to a save point with it, took a lot of tries though :|

We also got these sweet cluster grenades that blow up like 5 times and have a huge area of effect, along with the executioner automatic shotgun.
