ITEMS 1

Built your own TIVO like media center using the capabilities of these cards!

This is a VisionPlus VP-1020 Digital Video Braodcasting (DVB) PCI Tuner card with drivers and software to decode DVB broadcast's (encrypted or not). This will work with any D.V.B. braodcast system when software is setup correctly. Systems include and not limited to F.T.A., Dishnet, Bell Xpressvu. You can have more than one satellite system connected to the card with the additional multi switch ( do not use sw-21 switch) and watch all the channels without switching cables.

Product Link (http://www.twinhan.com/visiontv-1.htm) : The price listed is for the same retail package i'm selling but does not include the necessary software to decode the signal. Decoding is done through software, NO subscription card required, A P3 1Ghz + is recommeded. Also included is a USB wireless remote. Instructions will also be included (Software is Freeware which i have gathered together to make it simplier for installation).

Addition Hardware needed is dish and LNB (Directv,Dishnet or Bell Xpressvu will work and are readily available and RG6 sat cable to connect to the card. WinXP/Win2000 highly Recommended.

If some things need clarification then please post so i can edit the post. I have 4 units on hand.

Picked my Card up yesterday (full retail box)....installed today.....works PERFECT!! Ty provided excellent instructions and I was up and watching Sat TV in no time. Product definitely works as advertised....

Ty is always a great guy to deal with.....so far he's modded my PS2, my XBox, and now i get free TV.

Nothing else to say except this is the future of free Sat TV. Get yours now!!!

One newbie question ... before I can jump into this deal, how much typically do I need to spend on hardware installation ? I guess without signing contract, those things won't come cheap, right ?

Thanks.

how's the quality on these? will they rip the sattelite signal directly to mpeg2 or do they contain some kind of hardware reencoder? is the card supported by mythTV?

thanks.

Tyger is a nice trader. It's a pleasure meeting him.

The card worked like a charm once you set the software right. If you can lay your hands on an oldie RealMagic MPEG2 decoder, then you can run the card on a very slow/old PC, ie. 700Mhz. I'm running on it smoothly. Otherwise you need at least 1GHz to do the software decoding. Memory doesn't count since it's all streaming signal.

The picture quality is way better than cable/digital cable.

Yes, you can record the signal directly to MPEG2.

The card supports MyTheatre, donno what you mean 'mythTV'.

I'll second that tyger is a great trader. I just recently bought a card from him. At first i was having a little trouble and he actually helped me get it working over the phone. It doesn't get any better than that. Its crystal clear reception to. If i needed one again i would definately buy one from tyger.

will this card support Nagra 2 code??

I can't say it will or will not, it's currently working now for the nagra "1" stream but who knows for the future. I'm no specialist.

Does the card work with Digital Cable? I am assuming it only works for Satellite.. doesn't hurt to ask though! :o

I usually make it a point not to thread crap. But this time I couldn't help myself. Personally I don't have a problem with thread crapping (as long as there is evidence to back it up), it keeps people honest.

I'm sure Ty is an excellent trader, but $185 for the VP1020 is ridiculous!

I've purchased different versions of this card over the past few years, the most I've paid was $125 (inc shipping). I've helped write and beta test some DVB apps that we're using in North America. I HATE WHEN PEOPLE TRY TO MAKE A PROFIT FROM SOMEONE'S WORK THAT WAS FREE TO BEGIN WITH. Yes, I realize that Ty is not selling the DVB apps but he does claim the card will allow you to receive BEV and DISHNET (only made possible with the use of freeware).

I also think he should have mentioned that this is not a legal solution to receive non-free to air content like Bell or Dish. (Not that you can currently recieve all Bell or Dish channels anyways since some have converted to Nagra 2) Within a few (or more) months you won't be able to watch any channels on Bell or Dish as they are planning to convert all channels over to Nagra2. It is not likely that this security system will be "cracked" any time soon. There are limited Free-to-air channels worth watching, unless you're into forigen channels.

Anyway, in Toronto, Canada Computers sells the VP1020 for $75 or you can get it from the site sponsers at www.dvbn.net

Check out www.dvbn.net for more info

Again, I'm sure Ty isn't a bad guy, just couldn't sit this one out. After all this is Red Flag DEALS.
