I saw these tonight in FS and am just wondering if anyone has tried them out yet?

It reads on the package and on the site that full-charge is 6 Hrs...I am just wondering how many hours of use you'd get on a full-charge?

Here's the link....not bad for $30 if you don't need to charge all the time..

Few days to a week, depending on how much your playing.

YOU ARE = YOU'RE

But saying a few days to a week doesn't help. If I played 1 minute a day, it might last a year.

Does anyone have an actual time?

The capacity is listed at 600 mAh which means it probably has a couple crappy NiCd AA's inside. I have seen 1800 mAh packs on ebay which would be some crappy NiMh's.

A pair of decent NiMh AA's would be better if you ask me.

I concur -- get a descent pack of 2500mAh NiMH and recharger. It'll probably cost you the same price, and will allow you have much more use out of it (batteries) then just the Wii Remotes.

I think the manual said that regular batteries should last 60 hours which is quite long. I've only had to replace batteries once since buying my Wii about a month ago and those were the crappy batteries that they came with.

+1

At 600mAH, you probably won't get to play that long (esp. with the vibrate function on) before you'd have to charge again (6 HOURS?!!!).

Get a decent pair of 2500 mAH's and you'll be rocking for a couple weeks (based on my own usage... an hour a day approximately). I'm using the Energizer E2 rechargeables with a 15-minute charger.

It rocks! Once batteries go dead, we take a break, have a drink and we're going again in about 15-20 minutes.

At $30, I think it's a ripoff.

I went and bought 48 AA batteries for $17 (including tax). :D

I think the brand was Nexxtech.

Here!!! http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Nexxtech-AA-Batteries-48-Pack-NAA48PK/sem/rpsm/oid/162151/catOid/-13348/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do

I got it at CC as an impulse buy since it was on the walk to Loblaws.

You're better off with Eneloops simply because the drain when you're not playing will not be as significant as other rechargeables. Get enough batteries and you can always have a fresh set ready.

Not sure about the quality but the Canadian Tire at Markham Rd near 14th Ave in Markham had 48 or 50? Memorex Alkaline batteries for $9.99 or something like that in a bin near the cash registers when I was there on Sunday.

Too bad, Walmart has the same battery packs (Maxcell) on for 8.97 + taxes right now.
I got 2 packs. 4 Wiimotes, Digital camera, clocks......all take AA's.

Just buy some rechargeable Ni-Mh

I am using my old Ni-Mh used to be for my old Digicam
few sets to rotate, all got 2000+mAh
It does a pretty good job on high-drain devices

Asking for an actual time doesn't help. It depends on what games you play as games that require a pointer (uses the infrared) suck up more batteries then those that just use the accelerometers, which in turn would suck up more batteries than if you just used buttons.

Don't know...I think the USBs are powered while on Standby.
And whoever mentioned about NOT SUPPOSED TO USE RECHARGEABLES...I had remembered seeing that somewhere too, but found the following on Wikipedia under WII REMOTE...

Although the Wii manual discourages the use of rechargeable batteries, Nintendo's support website has indicated that NiMH rechargeable batteries may be used.[9]

I think i will go get a package of those TARGUS 2600 from Walmart and give them a try...

Thanks to those for input...

wow 2.6A batteries. Is that the highest right now?
Damn, I remember when I found 2.3A 3 years ago and was ecstatic.

How much are they anyways

$20 with 2 hr quick charger including ac/dc adapters...4 2600 AA and 4 1000 AAA...not a bad deal if you can still find them...see this forum...

Yeah I read that too....well not that they break it but that they say not to use anything other than alkaline...

Why would they state no other battery types....and no rechargeable ones?

60hrs??? OMFG what were they doing if a wiimote lasted 60hrs, was it in idle mode??!?! I found that the stock batteries that came with the system lasted 35hrs TOP, mostly playing wii sports. So I would make a safe assumption and say that with rechargeables you'd be good for at least 25~30hrs playtime until you need to charge again. I'll go ahead and say that those battery packs are a ripoff at $30 too. I got an 8-pack eneloop for $30 at TSCC, money much better spent.

the manual saids "use only alkaline batteries. Do not use lithium ion, nickel cadmium, nickel metal hydride, carbon zinc or any other non-alkaline batteries". Anyone know why?

Nintendo says on their website that if you want to use rechargables, use NiMH batts.

I use energizer 2500 mAh batts that I got at walmart with a charger for like 20 bucks. typically last me 2 weeks. charger came with 4 batts and I have more so I have a few ready when 1 set dies. I use them in my 360 controller as well.

My free batteries that came with the Wii remotes died very quickly. I got 8 2600 mAh Duracell batteries for Christmas, and I still haven't had to recharge them yet (for my 4 Wii remotes). I've only used the initial batteries that came with the remotes, and these Duracell rechargeables.

I play about 10-15 hours a week, and have had 4-way play going about 7 or 8 times. My four remotes still have over half their life left on the 2600 NiMH batteries (got my Wii in mid January), and I leave all the batteries in the remotes all the time.

Go individual rechargeables all the way (over 2500 mAh).

Babykin: You're not supposed to use them because they are not rated for a slow drain device like a remote control. However, these remotes, I find, drain battery life fairly quickly, and will have no problem running rechargeables in them the whole time. Because Nintendo states this warning, it relieves them from having to deal with warrenty issues due to batteries. It is easily an acceptable risk in my books.

Thanks for your input, l3oondock... I agree, the risk is acceptable.
