Just a note for those 'too good to be true deals...' Looks like there is a few punk gangs who have discovered peoples greed for a bargain and throw caution to the wind. They got this bunch of punks... but the story clearly shows that there is more were this came from.

people hustling with a gun or knife point is plain stupid....

You mean if I had a gun and was in my mid 20's and stuck someone up for 2 bills, that would be OK?

well, they were caught for 3 according to the article, but who knows HOW many they really did...
prob. did some for laptops too, etc.. so it might be 10 of thousands they got. Hopefully more people will come forward and link more charges to them,

general article in the Sun, they might not even know of RFD, or they could be on RFD and a lot more, who knows... yeah, a more detailed article would have been nice. Like where the AD was posted, etc...

Well there's definitely people like that on RFD, so make sure you always check feedback and join date (posts), but even after than you can never be sure.

Why not make a sticky post with news like this one? It will be an eye opener when one get tempted to have a to-ggod-to-be-true deal. Any similar news will be added to that sticky.

parents told me this yesterday 'cause i recently bought a 360 as well.

anybody know how cheap they were selling the 360s at? :| cause i mean if it's like.. really cheap then anybody who's smart wouldn't take the deal..

I dont agree with having this sticky'd. I doubt victims (if from rfd) would appreciate re-living those terrifying moments everytime they are in the scammer section.

Petty thieves and petty crimes are both on the rise due to easy and readily available avenues for them to pursue. To the 20-somethings, it's very tempting for them to just stick a bb-gun and instant pay out thinking there is little to no repercussion. There's obviously very little thought going on in their heads when they drummed up the idea to rob someone so I'm sure their fuzzy logic thinks using a non-lethal gun is not as harsh as a real gun. God only knows, but it's nice to see them get their just desserts.

That last bit where one of the thugs was charged with possession of weed is humorous.

Not to sound racist. But stereotypical Scarborough, unless your in a public place like STC (specifically food court),there are alot of 50 cent wannabes around to jump you and rob you cause they got nothing better to do.

It's happened to my friend in the past near the STC movie theatre outside, too bad he was alone at the time when it happened. Luckily he got away and ended up kicking one of them in the face.

scarborough's not that bad, there are robberies everywhere, even in a relatively safer neighbourhoods such as markham and richmond hill. i walk out in the middle of the night and psychologically, i feel safe there but in scarborough, i always look around expecting some guy to be hiding behind a tree or something. the reason i say scarborough's not that bad is because i've been living there all my life and im use to it. i heard one guy tell me how there was this non-scarborough rfd member who wouldnt meet up in scarborough to deal because of the rep but hes from north york. i dont see it any better there lol
