Rogers Digital Cable box -----> Coaxial vs S-Video ?

I have a 32" Sony WEGA (KV32FS120) hooked up to a rogers cable box.

1. Will I get better picture quality if i use S-Video or composite? It does not have component output

2. Also for my DVD player, currently using Composite, will I get better picture with component cables?

I use component cables with my PS2 and there is a big noticeable difference between its original composites.

1. S-Video is better then composite and will look better.

2. Component will look better.

Goes like this: HDMI/DVI > Component > S-Video > Composite

Composite is garbage and should always be avoided when possible.

1 more question. If I run everything through my A/V Receiver because it does upconverting.

Should I still run Component DVD ----> Component AVR ----> Component TV

OR

can i get away with Composite DVD ----> Component AVR ----> Component TV

Same question for my rogers box. Should I start with the highest quality possible (S-Video in this case) or can my AVR upconvert any crappy (Composite in this case) signal to get most potential from up converting to component.

Always try to keep the signal quality better. Upconverting can't always work miracles and you might not notice it on the good channels but on the bad channels, you will see the difference.

I have the same TV as you, and I used the S VIDEO from the Rogers box to the TV for video, and decent audio cables for the sound.

For the DVD, I got component video cables.

The quality is exceptional, and Mike is very nice to deal with. These cables are nicer and cheaper then Monster brand.
