wasn't is like $399 or $299 at London drugs few months ago ? (and no, I don't mean the Promedia..)

Edit:
A quick search on RFD and it was $299 at Boxing day at Best Buy

Edit2: For $199 - $299, they are VERY nice speakers.. but for $800, it's a total scam

I bought them at $199 from this thread http://www.redflagdeals.com/forums/showthread.php?t=272581 that was almost a year ago, but I don't think a $600 raise in price can be a hot deal.

Why are they so expensive? They "look" like the satellites of the pmu's.

sub sold separately

The subwoofer is included. That's why the regular price is $1500 and not $850 as it is on the website right now.

Bascially, the speakers are $850, and the subwoofer is $650, totalling reg price of $1500.

The subwoofer you are getting is this one, S-10:
http://www.bestbuy.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?logon=&langid=EN&sku_id=0926INGFS10065506&catid=20326

THIS IS A PACKAGE DEAL.

It is warm at best, not cold as others have mentioned. The subwoofer costs $300US so this combo price is like "reasonable" price compared to the $650 MSRP in Canada for the subwoofer.

not even warm. Satellites were small and i believe the satellites RMS power were like 50W only. Might be warm on a QuintetIII but not this model.

FYI, Visions' "price guarantee" isn't like FS/BB/stooples where they "beat the competition by XX% of the diff.", ... Visions' PG offers to beat the competition by 5% of the lower price

i.e. take the competitor's price and subtract 5% of it - that's their "new lower price" to beat the competition.

quoted off of their website:

Lowest Prices Guaranteed!
We will not be undersold! Before you buy, if you see a lower legitimate price for any model we stock, Visions will be happy to beat the price by a full 5% - not the difference - but a full 5%!

I don't understand what you're saying Jon as the OP's link goes to the $850 "sale price" of the Quintet II's only. As it states on that page

*Note: Subwoofer sold separately

$850 for the Quintet II's (5 piece) is very high.

well THAT makes a whole lot more sense! Thanks panda!

still the KSW10 goes for $279 right now, so the deal looks better, just not quite a "drop everything and run out and buy it" kind of thing.

The Quintet II's are "discontinued" according to Klipsch's own website. See here (http://www.klipsch.com/products/discontinued/lists/bookshelf-systems.aspx) (left side of the screen tells you they are discontinued).

Same for the KSW-10 sub- it hasn't been manufactured since 2005- see here (http://www.klipsch.com/products/details/ksw-10.aspx) (scroll to the bottom).

Ah. My mistake then. Was not well-versed in their policy.

actually, i thought it was phrased pretty clearly in their PM policy....

anyway, the 20% GC savings most of the time will be greater than that of the 5% PM savings ...
