First of all, this is US.

Second, it is a "scam" in a way as they charge for the software after 30 days. Here a similar "deal" with a USB drive...

This deal is on tigerdirect.com, not tigerdirect.ca. The rebates are only valid for U.S. residents.

EDIT - opsy.. that was for the flashdrive anyway....

This same bundle is $110 CDN on the Tigerdirect.ca site

I bought a Maxtor HDD from them two years ago and the onrebate did come back but the HDD failed in a month, RMAed it without problem but will never buy from them again since their cheap stuff with rebates are usually out of dated stuff or rubbish. IMO btw I class them in the same catagory with factorydirect and cty.ca...junk yard with high prices.

I think you should look at this...
To OP, I think you should include more information in the title of your thread e.g. company name, additional product details, upfront cost, rebate, expiration date. See my title as a example of a title that permits the speed-reading time-saving RFDer to quickly decide if he/she should click on your title to get more details.

Also, select the US flag icon as this is a US deal. >:(

Anyways, thanks for the post.

i don't know what you guys are talking about, i think i have ordered over 2000$ worth of stuff, and i have received all my rebates (over 500$), maybe you guys didn't fill out the right stuff to send back for the rebates, lol.
i dunno, i've had good experiences with td :o
but i wouldn't advise to order from the american site

This is no deal for canadians please remove.

tigerdirect.com will charge $70+ using UPS only to ship to Canada for a stamp size SD card

tigerdirect.ca shows $115.99 no rebate.

even if so, look at the size of that MIR.... $80 is quite hefty for a MIR, and esp. considering it's a MIR thru TD's "on rebate" system....

kmchow
Mar 10th, 2007, 12:13 PM
In this case, there is a sneaky little string and billing afterwards.

If it's just a straight forward TD MIR, I guess you can treat that like going to a casino--you could "win" (get your rebate) or "lose" (never get your rebate).
;)

Agree. I have all my TD rebates except one way back in 2003 (Soyo). If it's an OnRebate, I think of it as 100% guaranteed that I'll get it. Largest I got recently was a $100 rebate for a computer purchase over the summer. Don't slander a business if you cannot follow simple instructions.

If you just want the usb, its really not worth the trouble...

Tax on 85 bucks is around 10 bucks so you add that to your cost (making it 12, rounding 'cause im lazy) and then you add shipping on top of that (which in Vancouver is 70 bucks??? but let assume 5 bucks) that makes the price 17.

You can get a 2GB card in almost any local computer store for between 20-30 bucks right now and odds are, they will be better brand.

Example:
http://www.cancomputer.com/index.php?sku=5562

I would really be worry with the size of that rebate too... for a SD card, a rebate that big just doesnt seem real... unless its for a 8GB or 16GB.

yeah, anytime the rebate is handled by onrebate, you'll be fine getting it (have got at least 5 or so in the past year!) But don't order from the states though :-)

Not true, still waiting for my $20 from Onrebate from last summer. TD will never get my business again. If you want to roll the dice just go to the casino as you'll have about the same luck with Onrebate.
