Return of the living dead rave to the grave comes to dvd march 27th.Most of the reviews give it 2/10.

Night of the Living Dead is a classic low budget film by Romero. His only bad movie in the "of the dead" series is Land of the Dead and that's not even that bad.

In case you're curious, the movies in his series are:

Night of the Living Dead 7.9/10
Dawn of the Dead 7.8/10
Day of the Dead 6.7/10
Land of the Dead 6.6/10

Those are their scores on IMDB. Not half bad, especially in the horror genre and on such a brutal rating site (Best movie ever is 9.1/10). You may have a sour memory of them because you saw the remakes (the vast majority aside from dawn of the dead remake were embarassingly bad) who were done by different directors. Or the sequels (day of the dead: 2 has 2.4/10 on IMDB).

I'm sorry, I just have to correct people who lump Romero's films in with the other blah horror films.... the more you know!


Edit: This movie got 2.6/10 on IMDB. Rofl, almost as bad as dotd 2: contagium!

Why did this DVD need a thread....? There's nothing special about it...there are terrible movies released all the time on DVD.

The first Return of the Living Dead is fun...cheesy/campy B horror film but there was no reason for any others..

Good points, Romero is king of the zombie movies, everyone except Land was a classic. I liked the remake of Dawn as well, it was good if you didn't take it too seriously.

I actually really like the remake dawn of the dead. I own all of romero's movies + the remake dawn. I just bought the remake dawn because HMV dropped the price from $20 to $10. Mmmm widescreen for $10, gotta love it.
