Post what you think is the best deal in downtown Toronto.

Boundaries:
- restaurant must be within the boundaries of University (west), Front (south), Young (east) and Queen St (North).

My deal:

The Bay's (secret) cafe. It's located in the Bay and you go up through the elevators (forgot which floor) and you basically get to pick and choose what items you want. Last time I went, I had a veal parmigiana with dessert and drink for $7 before tax (no tips since its a cafe).

Sandwich World, its located at the Richmond-Adelaide centre, they have lunch specials for $4 including tax, your choice of 1 meat and 2 sides. you can also get it with a pop and its $5 including tax. the food is really good for its price, i have worked in the downtown core for several years, imo, i still have yet find another place with a better deal and selection

Sandwich World is definitely the cheapest. There are other items, but I always get the chicken curry.

Other good options:
Thai Express in Scotia Plaza (long lineup) or Eaton Centre (shorter lineup) - one of the only food court places that cooks fresh when you order
Noodle Concept - same food court as Sandwich World - PHO & spring roll for $6. Takeout pho is surprisingly good
Ho Shim - Korean/Japanese takeout stand in FCP basement - stuff like bulgogi for $5-7
Gourmet pizza place in FCP basement

How good is the food at the Bay? I pass by there almost every day but have never tried.

from King/Jarvis, i would say its like 10 minute walk, go north on Jarvis to Adelaide, make a left (go west), its on the north side of Adelaide, in between Bay and York street, its located in the basement food court

they have all kinds of meat choices, ranging from chicken drumsticks, curry chicken, salmon, lasagna, teriyaki chicken, stuff chicken breast, some kind of beef and pork, meatballs

the side dishes choice- ranging from different salads and pastas

hope that helps

TD center ( i believe its the area thats connected to scotia centre).... theres a store in the "indoor market". They have BBQ chicken legs for $1.50!!!
buy one of those and a $1 kaiser and you got yourself a pretty healthy/hearty lunch!

If I was at King/Jarvis, I'd just go to St. Lawrence Market and get the veal & eggplant sandwich.
