Seems as though the creators of God of War have a countdown going, which is confirmed NOT to be for the PSP version of GoW. What else could it be? I have a feeling it's going to be the announcement of a spin-off game for GoW..on the PS3. That's a bit of a stretch though.

The website appears after you do a 999,000 combo.

Apparently by going into challenge and setting some condition(ie foes don't attack). Then go into Rage of the Titans and keep doing the spin attack. http://kotaku.com/gaming/god-of-war/mysterious-god-of-war-countdown-site-246916.php

Interesting side note, David Jaffe(GoW director) talks about the GoW franchise.

Jaffe: Well, a lot of it is sales dependent but a lot is scope dependent. For example, me and Cory have a story for how God of War wraps up. Whether or not we'll be able to tell that story in one game for PS3, or it's going to take 2 or 3 games is really more dependent on how much time we have to make that game. Now when that story is concluded and assuming people and we hope they are are still interested in Kratos and his universe, there's a lot of places we can go to continue to make God of War games if people are interested, but the core story of Kratos will have been told. So that's what I really want to get told is that core story. And then after that, there's all these gaps where Kratos was doing things for Ares, where Kratos was doing things for the gods and we can tell all kinds of stories. But right now we're just focused on the main story of where Kratos ultimately ends up.

Hrm, so I decided to check where the countdown would stop. April 12th.

I then head over to Wikipedia, type in the date and look for Roman things. What do you know..

The Roman holiday of Cerealia begins.

Cerealia was a 7-day festival celebrated in ancient Rome in honor of the goddess Ceres. The exact dates of the April festival are uncertain: it may have started on April 12 and ended on April 19 (Or it may have started on the Ides of April, i.e. April 13, or even on April 7.)

In Rome, this was the primary festival of Ceres and was accompanied by the Ludi Ceriales or "Games of Ceres" in the Circus Maximus. Ovid's description (Fasti iv.494) mentions that Ceres/Demeter's search for her lost daughter Proserpina was represented by women clothed in white, running about with lighted torches.

Guess there might be a tournament ? Or a hidden place with the Games of Ceres, kind of like the Challenge of the Gods ?
