Insurance rate goes up if you get a parking ticket?

Parking tickets are municipal by-law offenses. Only provincial offenses go on your record and affect your insurance rate.

Actually, there good to dispute too (like speeding tickets), worst case scenario you pay the fine if and when you finally get a trial date. Either way, no insurance impact.

What a dumb post to someone asking for assistance.
Your insurance will not go up for a parking ticket but the fine may go down (depending on circumstances and your ability to plead your case) but, if you do not pay, you will not be able to renew your plates (in Ontario). Municipalities have recently made a deal with the Provincial Government to allow them to get their money before you can renew your registration.

That's right, if you just don't pay it and do nothing. But if you request a trial, there's a good chance it won't make it to trial in time. If every person that got a parking ticket took the time to request a trial, there's no way they'd be able to get the majority of them to trial. They used to offer a voluntary payment discount, since they took that off the table, I figure there's absolutely no reason to pay voluntarily.

Paying the parking ticket or not has absolutely nothing to do with insurance rate.

Just on the side. One time I got pulled over for running the red lights (which I had no idea that I did) I explained to the officer, but no luck there. She only would reduce the fine to $110 instead of the normal $300+, and won't take off any demerit points...BUT...next day insurance company knows about it, and then increased my insurance by additional $500/year.... making it around $6800.... how gay

Not sure what you mean. It is impossible that the insurance company could know about that that fast. Next day? Our government does not operate in that kind of speed.

And, until you are found guilty, that ticket does not exist.

Whatever reason your insurance decided to increase your insurance cost has nothing to do with that ticket.

correction, not next day, a few days later, they sent a mail, and it had to do with that ticket, said on the letter. I should know what is the cause for the increase in my OWN insurance
