I'm having an issue with my home network. My router is a D-Link WBR 1310 wireless G router.

Originally on my desktop I was using a Linksys Wireless 'B' USB adapter. Because my brother got a computer, we gave him my adapter and went out to buy me a new wireless 'G' usb adapter. We first bought a Belkin one because it was the cheapest 'brand name' there. Got it home, and it sucked. It would take a minute to load a page sometimes, and would sometimes not even recognize my network. My old linksys was easily ten times as fast, both surfing and downloading. I decided to then take the Belkin back, and bought a similar thing from D-Link (WUA-1340). Same problem. Pages take forever to load, it's better than the Belkin, but still painful at times, and I can't figure out why.

I don't think I'm doing anything wrong, but it seems as though I am, because I really can't see this happening twice. I also don't want to spend $100 on a Linksys adapter.

Anyone help me out?

Is your router set for G or B only? Check connection speeds. What encryption are you using?

If it has happened twice with two different pieces of hardware, most likely, it's a problem with your network.
