good deal, pretty fast for an old drive. Mine's Vista ReadyBoost compatible as well.

i must say something about this drive

the device has mix of reports on readyboost feature. some ppl reported it passed vista readyboost test but i have an exact same model but failed on vista test. Vista reported too slow writing speed.

shipping i believe is either 1.99 or 2.99, i cant recall from the top of my head, but thats the standard shipping price they charge to anything that isnt huge. ie. a tv. But seeing that it used to be free... greedy FS! i would have expected the shipping costs before when it was free since they drove it in from burnaby.. but they now have a warehouse in toronto ish.. so that hardly makes any sense.

hmmm...it seems readyboost is really picky. Mine has no problems every time I plug it in an retest, it passes and I got mine a year ago. My OCZ rally 2, however, will NOT pass readyboost and that one is way faster.

Some people on other forums have reported that a reformat in NTFS *MAY* make it compatible.

I have read that the Rally 2 has good constant transfer speed but horrid random access time. Since Readyboost uses the USB drive as memory, it only works well with drives that have low random access time. That is probably why your older drive works better than the Rally 2.

On a second note, you can buy the Rally 2GB at NCIX for $~30 after shipping and rebate if you pricematch the price at direct canada:

Bought 3 of these during the days of deals, or whenever it was $12.99, and there was an in store pickup option... I hadn't received notification so went to the store, shelves were empty, but luckily they had already pulled my stock... I find this drive works pretty well, and transfer is fast, I am not even using readyboost, have no idea how, really, will have to read up on it!
Used it to transfer specific large folders and files from old computer to new vista computer!

Just plug it in and Windows should allow you to access it as a removeable disk.

Anybody got any tips for tightening the cap? It's quite loose.
