strictly a homework question. i did some online insurance quotes and wanted to put fake info but they won't let me proceed. hopefully someone here can help.
what would the difference be for an 2007 accord se (straight 4) and the same car but se v6 (v6)?
obviously the cost difference will be in a dollar range. so to keep this simple perhaps a general percent quote can be used to help me? thanks

There's really no way of knowing unless you get a quote from an insurance company. The difference, if any, will likely vary from model to model, and may depend on your driving record as well (or the number of drivers insured etc). It may be more OR less expensive (though also less likely) to insure the V6 (again, depending on the type of coverage you select etc).
On top of that, if the online systems refuse to give you a quote (which usually means your record is less than perfect), that also tells you that you may not qualify for 'mainstream' pricing, which adds yet another unknown in the whole equation.

when i was looking at the honda accord v6 and 4 cyc, i found it was like only $15/month difference.
i still went with the 4 cyc because of gas :)

Call to ask, that's the best estimate you're gonna get
I called up my State Farm guy when I'm shopping for cars
just called him recently to ask how much used 1996 Audi A4 would be ($150/month extra)
He just needs the year, brand, model (I never did provide cylinders though, now I think of it)

I did... my answer pertained to your requested "general percent quote" -- which will also be variable, depending on how good (or bad) your driving history is, number of claims, how long you have had insurance etc.
That being said, the difference will likely not be large (as the cars are probably rated pretty close to each other).
