What are the difference among
2007 Canada's Wonderland Season Pass,
2007 Cedar Fair Maxx Pass and
2007 Cedar Fair Maxx Plus Pass?
Last year I had Canada's Wonderland Season Pass and could go into the water parks.
Now, do I have to have 2007 Cedar Fair Maxx Plus Pass to go into the water parks this year?
Thank you.

CBS sold Paramount Parks (including Paramount Canada's Wonderland) to Cedar Fair. To attend Canada's Wonderland this year (including the water park), you just need the $77.01 pass ("2007 Canada's Wonderland Season Pass"). The other passes are only for those who wish to visit other parks owned by Cedar Fair.

2007 Cedar Fair Maxx Pass means you have access to the other cedar point parks.. while the 2007 Cedar Fair Maxx Plus Pass means you have access to the Cedar point parks AND their water parks.

Hey so now that paramount doesn't own wonderland anymore, and prices have changed, i guess wonderland won't have the "buy 2 or more seasons pass and pay 50$ for each? (i think)" If not, that sucks because i was planning on buying a bunch at once. 80$ is a lot considering that usually season passes are really cheap at the beginning of the season..
- oh yeah, and are prices going to go up if i don't buy them now? thats how it worked in the past...

I drive every year to Cedar Point and haven't bothered going to Wonderland in years. Simply no comparison. I will be going to Wonderland this year, only to get the Cedar MAXX pass, as it's cheaper than buying it at Cedar Point.

The trick is to only go on weekdays. There are hardly any lines, and certainly plenty of parking. Weekends are a brutal torture though. Hour-long lineups for a 40 second ride = no fun.

Not really. The season pass is still the same price as last year $69.95. Just if you bought it at end of season, you are eligible to play the rest of that season also, and next of course.

$181.59 for Cedar Fair Maxx Plus Pass per person?
That is TOO expensive for one person for the season!
What is the regular price to visit this on one day?
Wonderland is $77.01 - less than half of Cedar Plus... why the BIG difference in price here?
If buying tickets from Wonderland for the Cedar Fair Maxx Plus Pass, how much is one looking at for a season pass?

The only thing that's holding me back from getting a season's pass is that no one said anything about any new rides this summer.
If it's the same rides, I don't know if it's worth it. Especially if I only get weekends off. Me and my gf used to only go last summer after 7pm cause that's when everyone leaves the park and we can ride 8 rides in 3 hours.
Does anyone know what are the new rides?

If you want to go to Cedar Point the Maxx Pass is what you want it's $99.03 after taxes. That will give you entrance to Wonderland, and the other 12 Cedar Fair parks.
The Maxx Pass Plus for $181.59 is to give you entrance to the above plus the separately gated Waterparks in the US.
To see the other available parks go here CedarFair.com (http://www.cedarfair.com/)
As someone who has bought a Paramount Park pass, and Cedar Fair pass each year this saves me a TON of money each season.

Paramount was a pass that would gain you access to the 5 Paramount Parks. This is no longer required since Cedar Fair purchased Paramount Parks, and the Maxx Pass replaces this option.
You can buy the Maxx Pass from this link. It's the fourth from the top.

Here is a FAQ about the difference between the two Maxx Passes.
What is a Maxx Pass?
A Cedar Fair Maxx Pass allows guests to visit eleven other Cedar Fair Parks in addition to Canada’s Wonderland. Admission to the following Cedar Fair Parks are included with a Maxx Pass:
Kings Island, King Dominion, Cedar Point, Geauga Lake & Wildwater Kingdom, Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom, Canada’s Wonderland, Michigan’s Adventure, Worlds of Fun, Valleyfair! & White Water Country, Gilroy Gardens, Great America, Knott’s Berry Farm.
For more information on each of these Parks, please visit www.cedarfair.com. Please note that Maxx Passes need to be processed at Canada’s Wonderland before use at other Cedar Fair Parks. Separately-gated waterparks are not included in a Maxx Pass.
What is a Maxx Plus Pass?
A Cedar Fair Maxx Plus Pass allows admission into eleven other Cedar Fair Parks including Canada’s Wonderland and five separately-gated Waterparks. A Cedar Fair Maxx Pass allows entry into the following Parks:
Kings Island, King Dominion, Cedar Point, Geauga Lake & Wildwater Kingdom, Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom, Canada’s Wonderland, Michigan’s Adventure, Worlds of Fun, Valleyfair! & White Water Country, Gilroy Gardens, Great America, Knott’s Berry Farm, Knott’s Soak City: Buena Park, Palm Springs and San Diego, Oceans of Fun, Cedar Point Soak City

yes exactly, Canada's Wonderland is one of the crappiest theme parks ever lol, there are no good rides, no effort has been put into the place in quite some time. Anyways having said that, there are not going to be any changes in 2007, but there is something 'big' coming in 2008 - so it looks like Cedar Fair will be making its big entrance into Canada next season...

That's why Wonderland has been the highest attended seasonal theme park in all of North America for two years now right?
You can't compare Cedar Point and Wonderland as they cater to two entirely different demographics, Cedar Point has for a long time been a thrill park, where as CW caters directly to families. A huge variance of opinion about a park will be directly linked from which demographic you belong to.
There is a great variety of rides at Wonderland you will be hard to match at alot of parks around North America. Unless you have travelled, and been to a good amount of parks, please don't try to sound like you know what you are talking about.
No changes for 2007? Hmm.. I guess you don't count two brand new restaurants, and two new shows a change? It's not just rides that contribute to an enjoyable time at a park.
Big change in 2008? Come on, now I know you are talking out of your you know what, there are very few people who are in the know about what is upcoming for future seasons, and from your outlandish remarks I know you are not one of them.

Last time I went, parking was around $10 or $11. Might be more this year.
Cedar Point is more of a thrills park but once you've gone there you can't go to back to Wonderland, there rides there would blow Wonderland out of the water. I think Cedar point also now has the fastest & tallent & steepest roller coaster.
For those going on company corp days before the park is officially open, I was told you wil be abl eto deduct the price you paid for the corp day tiect off the cost of your seasons pass. So really its like your paying the same ount in the end to go to the before its officically opened.

I've heard this possibility of having the theme park moving as well. Probably because the land that it currently sits on is valued far higher than it once was with the considerable amount of development in the last 3-5 years in its surrounding area. I always wondered though, what it takes to move a mountain? :) It would be sad to lose the primary icon of the theme park, but time will tell what happens...

Guys, Guys.. The park is not moving. That rumour has been floating around for years, and it just won't die. I assure you there is absolutely no truth to it.
Back on topic, the prices go up on May 14th. If you are going to purchase a pass I would recommend buying it now, and having the pass processed before the park opens. If you don't you can expect a long wait to process your pass if you go during regular park hours for the first few weekends.

Parking is $25.00 to be added on to a season pass, if you are going to go more than three times this summer it's cheaper to buy the parking pass than paying the daily fee.

umm...sorry, this may be the wrong place to put the question, but it does have relevance to cedar fair/CW:
the buying out of CW to cedar fair, does that affect their licensing on the rides or anything? like, are they allowed to use paramount movie pictures for their rides and stuff? or has paramount completely pulled all of it's characters and licensing out of the park?
hello, everybody, it's Sponge RectanglePants!...would be strangly awkward, yet disturbingly humourous
well, i just saw the answer on the site for attractions they currently own(just loaded)....so i guess everything they have right now will still be named the same. however, will they/can they add anything new from Paramount productions?
Lord Denning
May 1st, 2007, 11:44 AM
It's my understanding that each of the rides IP is licensed seperately from the park name in general. So there is a specific top gun contract, same with Italian job, etc, etc. Therefore rides will stay, but I doubt there will be any new Paramount based rides unless CP gets a sweetheart deal on them.
Raimiette
May 1st, 2007, 11:46 AM
They can't add any more Paramount themed rides or attractions but they are licensed to use the Paramount branded names for 10 years. After the 10 years the names will have to be changed of course but in the short term it isn't likely to change.

Yes, you will have to pay for parking ($10 or $12) unless you purchased the season's parking pass. Why not save a trip and buy it online? If you are just going to buy the pass, you probably can temporary park across the street in the plaza (about 10 minute walk to gates).

If you purchased your pass online, you had an option to "register" it (as well as the parking pass). During registration it asks you a few questions (age, sex, etc). I'm pretty sure online registration is optional, and the primary purpose is to save time at the gate.
You can purchase/activate/register your season pass at the gate, at any time throughout the year (not just until May 17th).

The new owners are trying to make it more profitable by prohibiting outside food from entering the park... I was there this weekend and they tried to confiscate our sandwiches! However, I told them we had to bring our own food due to dietary restrictions and they let us bring them in.

Folks - just back from Cedar point this past weekend - what a thrill! (no pun intended). Lines ranged from 10-15 mins to a couple of hours... just had to plan it right - i think our longest wait was 60 minutes for Top Thrill Dragster (words cannot describe that ride)!
Cedar point is about 6 hours away - an easy drive through Niagara Falls or Windsor - so if you like the big rides (and I mean B-I-G) then you may want to drop the extra $30 and get a MAXX pass.
Wonderland is a great park.. but I have high hopes that CF will inject some $$ in a new ride or two in the coming years... my biggest peeve is that Wonderland rides are typically 45 seconds whie rides in the US parks are twice as long or more. Standing in line for 2 hours to ride Dragon Fire just doesn't cut it anymore....
But I still enjoy Wonderland when I can get in, get in a few rides with my early Season Pass admission, and get out!
Now if they would just bring Snoopy up here and get rid of that stupid Dora! LOL

The new owners are trying to make it more profitable by prohibiting outside food from entering the park... I was there this weekend and they tried to confiscate our sandwiches! However, I told them we had to bring our own food due to dietary restrictions and they let us bring them in.
wow that surely sucks. I remember many families like to bring their own food and have a nice picnic on the green lawn. Now they want everybody to eat their expensive hamburgers and pizza? damn that really sucks!

We just fell for this scam (ended up paying double for tickets instead) so we're hoping this will bring awareness to other families out there considering buying tickets for Wonderland this year.
Be aware for 2007, there's scam & fraud going on with Canada's Wonderland Season Tickets (not sure if it affects other types of wonderland tickets). Consider buying your tickets at a reputable seller or Wonderland themselves.
Tickets are purchased at Wonderland using stolen credit card(s). Wonderland issues the tickets, so these are real authentic tickets. The tickets are then sold to innocent buyers. When the buyer takes the ticket back to Wonderland to get their picture taken for the season pass, the ticket comes up as not valid. The stolen credit card has been reported and Wonderland flags the ticket #(s) in their system as not valid. This is a humiliating and embassassing situation where you are now caught in between a fraud investigation.
Hope this was helpful !

I have 2 visitors coming over and want to bring them there. Our family already has season pass. Any place that sells legit discount tickets? Need tickets for 1 adult and 1 senior for July 1.
